I don't know if it's the best animated movie, but we watch it about once a week at my house and the music just keeps getting better and better.

OBWAT doesn't qualify as it was one of the last released films of the 20th century.

But they have The Gleaners and I on the list which came out in 2000 as well.

Moana was kinda "meh" save for the musical numbers and likable characters, but that's expected out of a Disney movie. It's not impressive or smart in say the way WALL-E is. It wouldn't make my Top 10 animated movies of the century so far.

The lack of No Country for Old Men invalidates this list.

OP, thank you for providing the list in the original post. This way, I don't have to click the link and give the retards another view. Awful, awful list. I don't even know where to start.

They got #1 right, but after that the list went to complete shite.

Moana had great music, vivid animation, an interesting storyline and entertaining characters. It didn't have as much adult humor as say shrek or Lego Batman but it is profoundly enjoyable even after repeated viewings.

Oh agreed, but this is Disney we're talking about. Those checkboxes are expected at a bare minimum since they're so good at it. I just didn't get any moments of brilliance from it that I say get from Pixar pretty regularly. It's a good movie, but by no means the best animated movie of the century so far.

I guess my appreciation for Moana comes from the fact my daughter watches it four times a week and I'm not at all sick of it. The stand out moments to me are the songs, esp the crab song. I do see what you're saying that it's just another Disney kids movie with that expected quality.

That list is bad. This is one of the snooty "I'm more sophisticated than you" film critic lists.

Oh, I get it. I just think it's not terribly good. The characters don't go anywhere and there is no dramatic tension, as there is no point in the film I do not feel that DDL is not going to absolutely crush his rivals. Furthermore, I don't think he CARES that he ends up isolated and alone. It never mattered to him.

It's a movie about a guy who only cares about getting rich fulfilling his mission of getting rich. The end. I'll take you up on the tater tots, though.

I know you've held this opinion for a long time, but I just don't agree with you at all.

It is an utterly brilliant film, with an amazing amount of depth. I just love the frick out of it.

My top 25, in no order, would be:

1)There Will Be Blood
2)No Country For Old Men
3) Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
4) Spirited Away
5) Children of Men
6) City of God
7) LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring
8) Lost in Translation
9) Up
10) Oh Brother, Where art thou?
11) Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
12) Inglourious Basterds
13) The Dark Knight
14) Pan's Labyrinth
15) 4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days
16) The Departed
17) Inception
18) Whiplash
19) The Royal Tenenbaums
20) Room
21) Ex Machina
22) Zodiac
23) Memento
24) Requiem For a Dream
25) La La Land

I like that Eternal Sunshine is on it. I love that film.

Me too. For me, that movie really hit it out of the park. Great concept and executed extremely well.

With regard to the Lost in Translation discussion - I'm on the pro side. Really enjoyed it. Then again, I like most movies with Bill Murray.
