I've been bitching that season 2 is bad from the start. It is so dumb, there is zero reason for Rose to even be in the show, much less in the situations they keep putting her in. My wife wants to finish it, otherwise I would have stopped. It's one of the dumbest story lines/scripts I've experienced in a while. Peter should be in jail for blabbing every damn confidential thing and making stupid decisions everywhere.
Yeah, I'll say I was really disappointed after waiting for S2 to get here starting with the story line, his field boss is a joke. S2 of the Recruit is much more entertaining.

Only thing about Season 2 of Night Agent that is better than season 1 is the fact that it does not have the worst actress of all time.
I hated everything about this person.

I hated everything about this person.

I dislike his new field boss just as much as her.

Half way though the series - what is with the side quests in this series?
I think they were trying to emulate a "Homeland" feel where all you see behind the curtain and they humanize and demonize everyone simultaneously to the point where you aren't sure who's good, who's bad, and who to hate. But neither the writing nor the acting is on a level where it comes off as believable. It's a great premise for a show. But ultimately doesn't have the juice or it factor to be great. Still a good watch with leveled expectations.
My biggest complaint is Rose's writing/character. One minute she's begging to be read in to the mission, and immediately after anything goes slightly imperfect she wants to run to California? Annoying writing....

Kinda crazy that this the same actress in The Menu.
and this is her in real life:

All that makes her an amazing actress. She was also the one-armed Vietnamese activist in Downsizing.

My biggest issue is in regards to the forced progression of the story.
The story constantly requires some asinine decision to progress.
Example from season 1 is when Peter, a master of counterintelligence, is spotted by random civilians because he refused to wear his hoodie or even a hat when he is the most recognizable human in America. He was actually wearing a hoodie at the time, just didn’t pull up the hood. Hell, even Rose wore a hat.
That was needed so that the SS agents could find them.
From season 2, they had the file on Foxglove, but neglected to go look for the scientists involved right up until the terrorist we’re looking for them.
Or the cliche “hiding in the perfect spot, but the protagonist calls the cellphone at the most inopportune time”.
The show relies heavily on cliche.
I’m enjoying it, but it just feels like it is trying its damndest to convince to quit watching in frustration.

Finished it last night, it was entertaining. The thing that got me was the FBI mole. Its like after they realized there was one, the forgot all about it.

Finished it tonight. I think I know why the season was weird. Each episode had a different writer.t The season never had a chance to flow or why someone was a "villain" other than just to be the villain. No characters really fleshed out. Rose should never have been involved in any way with this season. Peter doing dumb things bc Rose did something stupid.
The acting was horrible. The only person I actually liked is the guy who is controlling everything bc he seems to be the only one with a true purpose and goal. Everyone else is "doing their job" but no reason as to why they are doing their job.

My guess is that they don't want copycats or folks saying " I saw them do a thing in a TV show, and decided to try it myself ..."
Like the early trailers for Jurassic Park. One scene had Ellie reaching out and grabbing a leaf from a tree, as they were in the jeep going from the helipad to right before the big reveal of the Brachiosaur. In the movie, she's looking down at the leaf, oblivious to what Alan is seeing. They took the scene because they didn't want kids reenacting it in real life.
