Is the movie shitting on men, or are the critics just claiming he’s toxically masculine? There’s a difference

The trailer looks interesting, and the often violent, 'locals only' depiction is completely in line with anecdotes from every surfer I've ever known. As mentioned, especially in Hawaii.

Is there such a thing as toxic femininity?
Yes. See the average liberal male for prime examples.

The funnier thing is that you know this movie makes way more sense in Hawaii with their whole "kill howlie" culture but they would never highlight that.
Knew a guy that was a victim of that decades ago, murdered by local.

It’s so odd and screwed up for critics to inject that thought into it.
From the trailer, it’s simply a-hole behavior, regardless of gender.
So is every movie depicting a physically aggressive antagonist now a “toxic masculinity” movie? Stupid leftist shite.

When has advertising some woke angle for a movie ever led to increased ticket sales?
If you go to the film's metacritic page, you will not see the phrase "toxic masculinity". The only place you'll see it is in RT's AI-generated Critics' Consensus. As for the actual reviews linked on RT, you have to comb through and cherry pick the handful that feature the phrase in the fratured blurb. Who knows how many of those full reviews actually use the phrase, and I'm sure several people here will have no problem lying about reading them.
This thread was created to spark outrage about a tiny indie film and the critics writing about it. Your outrage would be better directed at RT for trying hard to spoonfeed you a narrative only partially reflected in the content it's aggregating, on top of its stupid binary rating system.

They’re called conservative males.

Any time a man¨ or group of men act like assholes, some morons will call it toxic masculinity. Doesn't mean the movie is trying to make that point.

Look at this bigot making fun of transgenders for a cheap joke at conservatives.

Ok, we are back from the theater.
First of all, it's weird af!
Second of all, we loved it!
Regarding the idea of "toxic masculinity," Nobody or nothing is preaching anything about T.M. in this film. It's not political and there's nothing "social justice-ish-y" in this film.

Sorry, did I use too many words to debunk the nonsense premise of this thread?

I watched a lot of toxic in Saving Private Ryan.

Good to hear. I’ll see it then.

There is nothing toxic about masculinity.
