Shouldn't this be a negative as it concerns the quality of the film?
Why?
Most people aren't movie critics who get all bent out of shape because of plot holes or stupid jokes.

Take a look at grossing numbers between critically acclaimed films and subpar films.

I wouldn't consider any of these but maybe, Gladiator, a popcorn flick.

Well, I always considered a popcorn flick to be an special effects driven movie with poor plots and characters.
But I was trying to use the description of popcorn flicks proposed in this thread in making that list.

I guess I'll give my opinion, just as I do in every Transformers thread.
I liked T1. Still do. It was a fun popcorn flick to me. I thought it looked good, it was new, fresh and made me laugh a little. All that made me look over the negatives.
The second movie was a disaster though. Not even counting the plot holes and the non reading transformers. I could name every transformer I saw in t1. You know there were over 40 transformers in the 2nd? Who would have known with them thrown in your face like they were. The parents were actuallly pretty funny in the 1st. They were so rediculous in t2 I wanted to punch them in the face. Sam was kind of goofy/funny in the 1st, again, way too over the top in Revenge of the Fallen. Basically it took every single thing t1 did good, and through it in your face in the second, and if you didn't like it, they through it in your face some more... Minus the hot blond australian chick.

Jesus Christ you are a douchebag.
You sound very childish attacking someone for their views on a movie.
Grow up.

I agree with that. But that's what I expected going into it though...same shite as the first one, just more over the top. Sure, parts of it were annoying, but I enjoyed it and it met my expectations of what entertains me for that kind of movie.
Also, I'm more likely to check out movies like Transformers in theaters because those kinds of movies are better viewed/experienced in surround sound on a gigantic screen. Just like Avatar...it's better to see Avatar in 3-D in a theater than in my living room, no matter how big my TV is or how awesome my surround sound is. So in that vein of thought, I'll continue to see things like the new Transformers in theaters, because that's where they should be seen IMO.

Can you name me some movies that you think are good action movies please?

I was not aware that character development was against the rules in motion pictures.
It's not, however if you want to see a character's long road to true development, you aren't going to get it in a 2 hour movie. Just the nature of the beast.

Firstly, it was an unimaginable travesty that the cars all became American.
How so? They all landed in the US. What's so unimaginable about that? You do realize that GM paid good money for them to become GM vehicles right (other than Optimus of course)?
Product placement = more revenue = more profit = more movies from more studios.

Jersey seems to be a bright guy, but he states over and over that his interest in movies all revolves around a great plot, so why waste his time seeing or bitching about how dumb these movies are? You obviously knew going in by the plot and guy behind the movie what you were going to get. It's like going to see a soccer match and leaving pissed off because there wasn't much scoring.

You clearly don't keep up with his posts who pretty much always is condescending to everyone on this site, including that one. The "douchebag" comment mostly derives from him stating that if we don't like T2 that we don't know what a good action film is.

Have you ever seen, just on the top of my head, Citizen Kane?

Look, some people just like different things.
It's to be expected.
I like Cokes love the sound effects and the big screen environment where Transformers is played.
I know it isn't real and I really don't care.
