Ted Bundy was exceptionally intelligent. He was a monster, but he had an IQ at least in the 130s.

Not the same show. That thread is about the Netflix doc.

You serious Clark? I think it’s pretty common knowledge that Bundy, in addition to being deranged, was a very smart individual.

Yeah, his IQ was 136. I don’t know how or why he thinks Bundy was a dummy.

I don’t mean to imply he was simple. I just don’t think he’s the criminal mastermind that he’s cracked up to be. He just came thru at the right time and had a ton of luck break his way that allowed him to get away with it for so long

I think he was a great manipulator of people and could put on a good show, but he wasn’t Hannibal Lector.

That IQ number has some conflicting reports. He was a pretty average student in the class room and clearly had zero grasp about being a lawyer given his court preceedings.

Again I’m not saying he’s Forrest Gump, I’m just saying he wasn’t some criminal genius

Doesn’t mean shite. Plenty of highly intelligent people had crappy grades just because they didn’t care.

He is also clearly delusional. Being delusional or nuts doesn’t mean you’re stupid.

What's the title of the movie? Is it for theater release? When?

Okay, never mind. I got it. I thought that was a description not a title. Should win an award for longest title of a movie in quite some time.

The term serial killer wasn't even coined until 1974, which was around the same time that his crimes started. It was a relatively new concept, and I don't even think the bodies were found until after he left Washington. They were just missing persons at that point.

Of his main, confirmed victims, this is correct. They discovered the Issaquah site on Labor Day weekend 1974 (IIRC) and he had started at BYU the month prior.

Now, I think the main spree started with suspected Oregon victims Jolly and Hollar, but they remain undiscovered to this day. Now, the girls he likely (but not certainly) killed back East, Davis & Perry in '69 and Curran in 1971? Obviously their remains were found, out of his home killing area and before he had perfected/evolved his hunter persona. In fact, Davis and Perry may have been his first "trial" of the feigned injury technique.

He reverted to his more primitive bludgeon in sleep technique in January 1974 (Karen Sparks, sometimes referred to as Joni Lenz), but that victim survived.

He did a modified version of that technique with Healy, avoiding killing her in her bed, but rather after taking her away. Healy is the first confirmed fatality of the main spree.

As for earlier suspected victims in Seattle? I think Ann Marie Burr is still possible, but Bundy vehemently denied it. The flight attendants - Wick survived and Trumbull died - also looked remarkably like the Sparks and Healy attacks, and particularly the Chi Omega in Florida (when he clearly regressed).

Lector is a fictional character. Bundy was a living, breathing monster.

He used his own name during abductions, around multiple witnesses and used the same vehicle to commit the crimes that was spotted by multiple witnesses and wasn’t investigated for years even after his ex gf told the police he would be a strong suspect and fit the profile to a tee and that he drives the exact car they are looking for

Then they finally caught him and let his arse escape out a window from the court room.

He did like 7 of the murders before the police were even able to figure out it was a serial murderer and not just a bunch of separate crimes then just moved states and got away Scott free before starting over again

man i wonder how those bank robbers from the 1800's would look like next to the fictional movie bank robbers of today?
