I don't want Elba to be Bond or a 00.

But that's because I would rather a new IP for him to start as he plays a very good predator character that would be wasted on suave and gadgets.

I want him to have the spy equivalent of the Spider-Man comic where he just goes fricking nuts on the rogue gallery cuz they kidnapped a kid and then lost the kid. Just a movie of him being brutally efficient and not Man on Fire type. But like Bourne without shakey cam and being on an actual mission.

I just want them to resist the urge to make Bond anything other than a straight white British guy who bangs broads and kicks arse.

Yeah, I'm out. No thanks. Luckily there is no shortage of good Bond films to enjoy.

That movie was awesome but the producers have been slaves to it ever since and completely misread what made that movie great.

Pretty sure I posted a year or so ago that I had a bad feeling about this movie. Craig didn't want to come back and the storyline from Spectre put them in a corner for the next movie. They've had a ton of pre-production issues and while the movie will probably be awesome visually, I'm not holding my breath that the script is going to be any cleaner than Spectre.

Its been clear from the start that they would overreact to the MeToo stuff. This "Bond Girl" crap is a load of BS and is such an overcorrection. Actresses have been saying for decades that "this Bond girl is different."

this shite literally happened in Casino Royale

No, it did not. From the very beginning you knew that Vesper was attracted to Bond and that she was playing hard-to-get. This is all too obvious when she says to Bond:

Vesper: "I will be keeping my eye on our government's money and off of your perfectly formed arse."

Bond: "You noticed?"

Vesper: "Even accountants have imagination!"

“The script has Bond marrying Dr Madeleine Swann – the psychologist played by French actress Lea Seydoux who first appeared in 2015’s Spectre. But she refuses to take her new husband’s name.”

Why can't rabid SJWs go make their own shitty movies?

Why do they insist on ruining ours?

I think this movie is going to suck. I was excited about Craig as Bond after Casino Royale and didn't expect that to be the high point of his tenure as Bond. Rumor has it he's exerted a lot of control over the script of this film and it's going to be a SJW circle jerk.

I see from the trailer that Craig got his way and refused to do the turn and shoot intro that has been a signature hallmark of all previous Bond offerings.

frick that guy.

I have not seen the last two and I doubt I'll see this one unless the wife wants me to sit down and watch it with her one night on the tele.

it seems you're leaving out some dialogue from that scene

All right….by the cut of your suit you went to Oxford or wherever and actually think human beings dress like that. But you wear it with such disdain, that my guess is you didn’t come from money and all your school chums rubbed that in your face every day, which means you were at that school by the grace of someone else’s charity, hence the chip on your shoulder. And since your first thought about me ran to orphan, that what I’d say you are.

Oh you are. And it makes sense since MI6 looks for maladjusted young men who’d give little thought to sacrificing others in others to protect queen and country. You know former SAS types with easy smiles and expensive watches. Rolex?
Bond: Omega.

Vesper: Beautiful. Now having just met you I wouldn’t g as far as calling you a cold hearted b-a-s-t-a-r-d.

Bond : Of course not.

Vesper: But it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine that you think of women as disposable pleasures rather than meaningful pursuits, so as charming as you are, I will be keeping my eye on our government’s money and off your perfectly formed arse.

Bond: You noticed.
Vesper: Even accountants have imaginations. How was your lamb?

Bond: Skewered. One sympathizes.

Vesper also denies Bond money after he tries seducing her in the middle of the poker game, saves Bonds life three times, back stabs him, and sacrifices herself for him.

You also leave out some important dialogue, where Bond perfectly reads Vesper by calling her out on her fashion, her demeanor, and also correctly surmises that she is an orphan. While the two are definitely getting personal with their attacks against the other, you can tell from the scene that they are both attracted to one another. This is reinforced several scenes later when Bond is astonished that the suit Vesper ordered for him was tailored, to which Vesper replies:

Vesper: I sized you up the moment we met.

She wants the D but is forcing Bond to earn it.

There's a reason why I consider Eva Green's Vesper to be the best Bond Girl to date. She was the most realistic and best fleshed out. When you see how their relationship ended, it's easy to understand why Bond never let another woman as close to his heart as Vesper managed to get.

did you read what I quoted?

or are you claiming that because Vesper was attracted to Bond, that she was weak, powerless, and completely dependent on Bond?

Well it wasn’t considering Skyfall is by far the best Bond movie ever made.

I did and I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing. My argument is that Vesper was both attracted to Bond from the very beginning and also a very strong and independent woman in her own right.

By the way, with the title being “No Time To Die,” anyone think the rumors that Rami Malek really is Dr. No?
