I don't know if a show about 2 people in their mid 30s is "coming of age".

This is easily one of Netflix's worst efforts, in my humble opinion.

I'm very disappointed in this show. Nothing in it is creative or original and all these things have been dealt with much better on shows like Man Seeking Woman, You're the Worst, and Hello Ladies and unlike Love those shows are actually funny.

After 4 episodes I'm done. Very boring and not funny.

We watched the 2nd episode last night and I think I'm done.

I just hate the 2 main characters. Probably more than any other recent show I have attempted to watch.

Master of None was fantastic.

This...not so much. Honestly it reminds me of Girls.

That's actually one of the reasons I like it, oddly enough. It feels real that way.

SPOILER

The scene where Mickey shows up to the studio.....so fricking awful. But it's some shite that would actually happen. I appreciate the intent of the show to be true to life, rather than some idealized notion of romance.

Not to be crass, but to be crass, having seen the "AT&T chick" topless, being a serious admirer of her assets...is she showing any said assets?

If you are lying, I think that should be a bannable offense.. PROVE IT..

The show is ok. I'm about half way through it. The guy lead seems like a nice guy and I'm hoping for the best for him. But the Mickey chick just sucks. She is alright looking, but so full of drama. The bad part is that is who a guy like him would wind up with. It's pretty realistic that way..

He and the aussie roommate were the only two likable characters on the show. I doubt I'll watch season 2

Show was kind of meh all the way through.

Like a lot of people have said, neither of the leads were particularly likable. I'd have no problem with that though, if they had ANY on-camera chemistry whatsoever.

I never bought for a second that these two were actually into each other. Considering Mickey's dependency issues, that may have been intentional, but I doubt it. I thought both gave decent performances, they just didn't mesh well.

He gets understandable hate for playing the same guy over and over, but this is the type of role Michael Cera is around for. He'd actually bring some goofy charm to that character.

I agree with everything you said even though I sort of liked the show.

I just dont feel this show has anything to say that we haven't seen better about dating.

People say it felt real - what's real about non-existent chemistry unless we're saying Mickey is so messed up she just gloms on to any guy that buys her a pack of cigarettes.

If so, what's the point of this series?

She's a weirdo - treats people like crap - her boyfriends are her Johns -and he's not interesting at all with no comedic relief and he's supposedly obsessed with her but ditches his object of desire the minute he moves one notch up in the world.

Were watching contrived scripted "Real world" but trying to be a Rom-com...a whole season of slowly drawn out...we had sex and made a mistake in thinking it was more.

Season 2 - Mickey dumps boyfriend for guy who gave her an extra flapjack at IHOP.

I would like them to decide they aren't a real fit and break up in season 2

The end of the first season, I've been in that situation and it's more about being vunerable than in love

Just finished it, can't decide what I think.

I usually like Apatow's shows, but so many of the characters on this show were borderline characatures to an absurd extreme. Gus was just so damn dorky. The Aussie was the bubbliest nicest person ever. Heidi is an absolute OT 9.5, and she's sleeping with the mega-dork? And Miki was like the most dispicable person on the planet.

I thought the actress playing Miki was awesome, but I didn't believe a lot of the other characters.

Also, I kinda thought the show ended at sort of a buzzkill. There really are people with love and sex addictions. I was kind of impressed that they weren't going to get together right away, and she's take the time she needs to get herself right before getting into a relationship. And then all the sudden boom they just toss all that out.

Idk how her growth is gonna be believable (assuming she does grow in the second season as no way she could continue to be this birch forever) if she just jumps right back into a relationship. I guess they're gonna go with the "Gus is such a nice guy he cures her" storyline, but people who truly do have sex or love addictions rarely heal themselves through others.

Yeah, I thought it was a weird transition of Mickey's character. At first, she seems like a girl that doesn't really have her shite together and likes to party, and then at the end all of a sudden she's supposed to be a hardcore addict?

Gus's nose is impossibly big.

Was really hard to sit through the bad date with the Australian chick scene. I think most have lived through a bad date but it's not something I enjoy watching.
