His 5 kids and (presumable) litany of grandkids were conspicuously absent from the entire series. I think one time they briefly showed a daughter and a grandchild.

This is some Blacklist shite.

Kratz opinion has to be taken with a grain of salt. This is a man who lost his position as a prosecutor for ethical misconduct in later unrelated cases

Ok. I'm late in the game with this thread and didn't read all 13 pages, but I have a few questions.
How can a real attorney allow his client to be convicted without a motive or a murder weapon???

More to the point, how did the Avery jury (with a deputy's father as a juror) convict him on the murder charge, but not guilty on the burning of the body. Yet Dassey is convicted of burning the body.

Has anyone looked into that book Brendan mentioned where he got the story about how they killed Theresa?

I'm only on episode 3, but has anyone here mentioned how violent Avery's letters were to Lori while he was in prison for the rape? He said he was going to fricking kill her in several different letters if I recall correctly.
He is definitely not a good guy. Part of that has to do with being in jail for 18 years, but he was a creeper before he went to jail. Dude threw a cat into a fire and also pulled a gun on his cousin and ran her off of the road. He is no saint by any means, which is probably why he was convicted (right or wrong).

No. But we saw the movie.

Under normal circumstances, if:
The victim was last seen at your house.
The victim's car was on your property.
Your blood was in the victim's car.
The victim's hair and blood was in her car.
The victim's bones were on your property.
The victim's keys were in your house.
A bullet with the victim's DNA was in your garage.
You had called and requested the victim using someone else's name.
You had called while blocking your number, until after the victim had gone missing, and then called with your unblocked number.
There's a good chance of conviction.
It wasn't that there was no evidence. It was that there was reason for, and suspicion of, the evidence being planted.

If I am on that jury, then he walks FOR REASONABLE DOUBT. How can one not reasonably conclude that he might not have killed her when there are question marks on every thing in the case?
If I have learned anything from this, it's that rural Wisconsin is full of mouth breathers. It would be really hard to find 12 competent people in that area.

That semi-juror who hung around after the trial... Do you think he was the "International Recording Artist" that was on the jury?
(International meaning that took the ferry to Canada to lay down a vocal.)

That wasn't his cousin he pulled a gun on/ran off the road. That was the Morris chick who said he was jeering off in the middle of his front yard. It just so happens that Morris was married to a sheriff deputy and filed a exaggerated police report on Avery.
My understanding of his violent letters was that he was trying to give Lori a way out of the relationship. He was under the impression that he was never getting out of prison. I certainly think he could of picked better words and gone about it a different way. But we are dealing with a dude who isn't very bright. Who also found himself in prison for a sexual assault he didn't commit

shite is way to crooked to have me believe the State wasn't out to get him. The Defense was laying down a perfect case and the judge just kept ignoring objections and requests to make the trial fair. Best case they really thought he did it and went over the line to try to make sure he didn't beat it. How the hell can you possibly explain the key? Or the same officers recently deposed being allowed to work the case. Those guys blatantly lied on the stand and looked nervous as shite when questioned. But Kratz says they had no reason to risk it.

Or the officer calling in a plate number and describing the vehicle two days before it was discovered...all while the Avery's had no access to their land. And I love the fact that the police let other people on the property to search while it was supposedly on lockdown. Obviously they wanted someone else to discover it unlike the key. Not to mention these guys had no business doing the investigation in the first place.

Where to start...
This is a documentary in Avery's and Dassey's favor so of course there were other things most likely left out.
The amount of reasonable doubt, unprofessional officers and tainted evidence, conflict of interest,no victim blood and so on amazes me he was found guilty for murder. And how was there no repercussions for the officer that ignored the phone call about having an innocent man locked up. The bias against Avery was unbelievable. I truly believe they planted evidence. From the license plate call, blood tube, and main evidence found by manitowoc officers. Truly unjust.
Dassey on the other hand is a shame what they did to him. He obviously is mentally challenged and interrogating a kid like that was not right. Felt bad for that young girl on the stand. And no physical evidence linking him there? Come on
The bus driver was the most reliable person to set a time line and the police did a horrible job. I personally believe Dassey older brother and that other older guy had something to do with it. Both caught lying about the time and other things. Too suspicious

When Brendan got dropped off at home by the school bus, didn't he see Bobby's truck drive away apparently to where he was going to hunt deer?
I was under the impression that perhaps, dead or alive, Teresa could have been in that truck. I definitely suspected Bobby of doing the deed while watching the documentary.
