I might be willing to pay money to see an Unknown and TulaneLSU Thunderdome.

I loved you in that movie where you played a fat, semi-witty sidekick with that "what am I doing here?" look on your face in every scene. Which movie was that? I forget.

Dolphin Tale is a kid's movie so that is the reason it got that much. Families are looking for movies to take their kids to and it seems to be the only one out. Plus it's an underdog story and deals with animals.

I haven't heard a single thing about any of these movies. That being said, I doubt they are that unhappy with what they brought in.

Abduction and What's Your Number are probably very upset with those numbers, especially considering that What's Your Number is the new Anna Faris movie that was highly advertised.

And the studio was probably counting on the Twilight tweens to go see Abduction every weekend for a month straight.

Big time upset.

Also, let's not forget that this was the SECOND week for that dolphin movie. So those new, wide releases were beaten to a pulp by a movie that was already in theaters. Not good for the studios.

Re: What's Your Number

If you watch the trailer halfway thru it looks like Anna got some funky/bad lip injection. Hope that's not IRL and was just a goofy couple of scenes.

I can't speak for Courageous or Dream House because I don't know their budgets or what they were expecting, but I will maintain that the studio isn't freaking out over 50/50 making $8 million and change. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad, either.

A movie about cancer won't beat a kid's movie about dolphins, and underdog, uplifting baseball movie, or arguably Disney's most popular movie ever rereleased in 3D.

And....and....the movie is about a fish that gets a special parking spot at the mall. THATS the movie that beat 50/50.
