The timeline doesn’t add up IMO. He was at least a freshman or some level in high school during the previous season.
He was 13 when the 13th season ended. His age ranged from 11 to 13 in the OG show.

The timeline is fluid like most animated shows. I think they have said it's been about 8 years since the hills left but it's been 16 years since we last saw the Hills, so don't think about it too much.

That fits correctly. Bobby was 13 when they left and 21 now.

I agree with this and I think it would be a good idea for folks to take a cue from the MST 3000 theme song about it
"If you're wondering how he eats and breathes
And other science facts,
Just repeat to yourself "It's just a show,
I should really just relax"

Watched the first episode last night. I loved it. I'm gonna have to get used to Dale's voice.
It feels as if I was reunited with a long lost friend.

Finished up season 14 last night and it’s still great. Miss Luanne but there’s no way they could bring her back. I’ve started a rewatch with s1e1. An all time great comedy series to me, loving it again right from the start.

The new Dale voice is extremely bad. Really distracting.

“Beer should have a taste like an old gun.” - Someone
“What does an old gun even taste like?” - Hank
“Idk. You’d have to ask Bill.” - Dale

I’m still hopeful. Maybe that’s why they didn’t address her at all so they wouldn’t box themselves in yet. Very unique voice to try to recreate though.

Its more than just the voice with Dale. He was always spastic but that is turned up to 11 in this version. It's not the same Dale from the original.
Kahn's new voice may be worse than Dale's tho

New voices aside, I loved it. The call backs were great. None of them seemed forced. “So he was one of the fiddy men?” Was perfect.

The irony of Bobby running a Japanese-German restaurant was lost on me until Cotton's name came up.
We're only watching a couple of episodes at a time. I wasn't expecting the waves of nostalgia hitting so hard. And after sharing a love for the original show with my then young son and, now, seeing Bobby at my son's adult age, the Hank and Bobby scenes hit the hardest.

The black Japanese guy pulling two race cards on Bobby!

Yep. It’s intentional. Cotton’s spinning in his grave over it.

Incel shite on 4Chan? I'm shocked I tell ya

I don't know Dale running for mayor, winning it, only to deny the results claiming that any election that allows him to win is flawed is quintessential Dale.

Kahn's is definitely my least favorite but overall I'm still pretty pleased with the show. I'm down to one more episode to go and I'm still impressed at how they have been able to take right back off almost like they had never stopped.
