All I can think about when I see the Ocean's 8 stuff is this old John Mulaney joke:
quote:
I think that women can be friends with each other, but I think it can be tricky sometimes when you try and force women to hang out with each other. You could never put together a heist of women. Like 'Ocean's 11' with women wouldn't work 'cause two would keep breaking off to talk shite about the other nine.

If you are counting on international dollars to break even, you are a financial failure.
It is supposed to be a Ghostbusters' movie, and it couldn't turn a profit in the USA.

I hope this movie is laughed at for years to come.

A very well-received horror movie by critics and fans, which is a big draw for theaters because people enjoy seeing horror movies on the big screen.

China is, actually, afraid of ghosts.

I was wondering if anything he said was going to worth reading when he didn't even know what fricking "Light's Out" was.

Just because the scifi nerds around the world want to have mods for every game, so they can build bigger boobs, great bodies, and skimpy suits/armor, etc, doesn't mean they want Female Ghostbusters.

Who the hell wants to do a BttF remake?

They should have introduced some attractive women into the original cast many years ago. An all female crew of not particularly attractive women was not the way to go.

It had nothing to do with looks and everything to do with shitty script and forcing girl power on people.
Look at the star wars reboot. The actress playing Rey could hardly be called model gorgeous. The fact that the lead was female had little to do with the success or failure of that movie. The script was everything and instead of running from nostalgia with the original characters in star wars...they embraced it.
Sony is getting precisely what they deserve...they handled this about as poor as any movie company could.

Bet Today I learned in a while.
Also women aren't funny. I feel at this point arguing otherwise is as arguing the earth is flat.

Can somebody explain this

Supposedly bad ghosts in Chinese culture symbolize government officials. Ghostbusters could be seen as a movie symbolizing revolution.
Posted on 7/31/16 at 1:37 pm to DupontsCircle
when the originals came out, China's film industry didn't really allow them to be shown
i think the first experience they had with star wars was the prequels, so you can imagine how they see the series
add in the fact that episode 7 was about 85% nostalgia, and there is no reason for China to support the movie
