I think we need a Saving Private Ryan reboot - but with a female cast and possibly a gay character having a significant role.

If it would have been Ghostbusters 3 with the kids or relatives of the original cast(in minor but plot driven roles) and they just all happened to be women it would have been fine. People would have given it a chance just on that alone. But no, smartass director made it a point it was a agenda driven movie.

Not for the movie.

But the agenda of the critics.

Big foreign markets like China and Russia and others like classic masculine, male led(usually Caucasian) action flicks. I remember hearing once that Denzel movies never do good there because he's black. Whether Hollywood likes it or not...those countries are FAR, FAR more bigoted and sexist than anywhere here in the states, no matter how much they try to push a false narrative.

This is common knowledge for leads but I doubt one character makes a difference.

Plus McCarthy is far bigger overseas than here, especially Europe where she kills....they love laughing at the fat American.

Because I didn't hate a movie that underperformed at the box office?

Just watched it on the train today after paying the iron price for it.

I did enjoy Akroyd and Hudsons cameos but the movie would've been better if either they were related or they were starting a ghostbusters chapter in another city. They just remade Ghost busters but without the fun or tension.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be but I would not recommend it. I'd give it a 4 or 5 out of 10. A decent movie but incredibly forgettable.

I just don't get why they didn't make it a continuation of the originals. Have all the women be the daughters of the original cast, possibly have a cameo in which Murray/Aykroyd are killed by ghost which spurs them to take their father's place.

Then you don't have the people bitching about rehashing already existing story-lines or it being PC. It would've given the new film validity as well if it had cameo's from the original cast to set it up. I really just don't get it.
