New Bill Burr Special on Netflix was disappointing.

got through 7 minutes, not even a chuckle.

Well either you’re not a Bill Burr fan or you took these specific jokes personally bc 7 minutes isn’t nearly long enough to judge an entire special.

Maybe not enough to judge if it’s good or bad, but could be long enough to decide you aren’t interested in watching it.
I once gave up on a comedy special after the first 3 words. It was when Trump was in office and every comedian or show was writing jokes about Trump. I’m not very political so that didn’t bother me it just felt lazy and tired. SNL, standup, sitcoms, late night talk shows…just wasn’t fresh or creative.
I remember telling whoever I was watching with, if he spends a bunch of time on the same Trump jokes, I’m not interested. He opens with, “so, Donald Trump.”

Comics know you have five minutes to grab attention of the audience. You don’t put your worst jokes at the beginning

For some reason people feel if your a “fan” of someone, you must like everything they produce. Every album, every special, everything. It’s not true

True. I love Burr but just like my favorite bands, they put out some clunkers. It’s all good

I am a HUGE Bill Burr fan, but this special wasn't very good. The females were just awful.

Exactly. The best stuff needs to come early to put the audience in the right frame of mind. Bill got rich and got soft. It happens.

I hope not. The first half of his piece was okay but not great. I laughed at the fake legs jokes. The Kyle Rittenhouse jokes weren't very funny and mostly just woke BS. If he did 60 minutes and the woke part was just 5 minutes it's no big deal. When it's half of his total time it's a bad set.
The women were awful. The first one may be the worst comedian I've ever seen that wasn't either live at an open mic or a reality show. The fat one was a worse version of Lisa Lampanelli...I think...not sure because I fast forwarded through her after about a minute.
Even Jimmy Carr didn't really make me laugh and I usually love him. Attel and Ross were weaker than normal although I did laugh at some of their stuff.
The first singing guy was quite possibly worse than the female comedians. Ronny (the asian guy that was at the end) is usually okay and I've seen him live at one of the comedy clubs in NYC. He was a better singer than I would have guessed but I have no idea why that was in a comedy show.

I have rarely seen any of these "showcases" work outside King of Comedy set.
Its hard for me to believe Burr didn't sit through the taping and go..."this is pure garbage." At that point, not sure there is much you can do.
He won't get a second chance at it though on Netflix.
