Extraction was entertaining, but goddamn did that movie have some massive plot holes
granted...I haven't watched many of them because I haven't heard many good things
Netflix should just stick to series, as they at least hit on a few of those

Spenser Confidential and 6 Underground were both highly entertaining. Enola Holmes was decent enough. The Irishman was great. Gerald's Game and The Ritual are both really good horror movies.
I watch netflix everyday and never run out of stuff. I don't know what everyone's complaining about.

I think netflix is more focused on the millenials and gen z tweens that have grown up with it as a main form of content consumption, a lot of their original content screams that.

I get the feeling Netflix actually commissioned these movies and paid for the production, unlike The Ritual or The Night Comes for Us where Netflix just bought the rights. Independent movies have always worked this way though. The main reason for film festivals is for independent film makers to sell their films to big studios. Netflix and Amazon aren't doing anything different from the way things have always worked.

Which is no different than a film studio's regular movie slate: a lot of forgettable crowd pleasers followed by two or three movies they shite out at the end of the year for awards recognition.
