Holy hell, who greenlit this pile of crap?

So many stereotypes.

This reboot follows the 3rd generation of the Evans family, in today’s world, and they are still living in the same projects and in the same apartment as James Evans did in the 70’s.

There is even a drug dealing baby

I saw this yesterday and people were up in arms. Black people were having a field day with this shite.

Wasn't the original show set in Cabrini Green? I know this is a stupid cartoon but that place was demolished and gentrified a long time ago.

They forced the cancellation of Eddie Murphy's brilliant the PJs, and they are going to allow this crap? WTF? I can't even watch reruns of the PJs:

You mean the show that was on 25 years ago? The one that got multiple seasons and was really expensive to produce?

Well, at least I see a barrage of comments from black people condemning it. That's a positive.

And it looks like they even get into the Afrocentrist stuff, I saw someone walking through an Egypt exhibit.

It's only going to further indoctrinate black people into thinking they were the first everything.

The PJs got 44 episodes and 3 seasons on two different networks and is currently on Hulu, Tubi, and Fubo. It was canceled b/c it ratings didn't justify the cost to make it. By the end Eddie Murphy was so over it they had to hire a different guy to do Thurgood's voice in case Eddie didn't feel like recording.

The great thing about Good Times was it being filmed before a live studio audience, so the writing and acting had to be on point for the jokes to land and the drama to unfold. If they tried to recreate that with some really good stage actors updated for modern times, I'd give it a chance. But this just seems like a bad idea.

It's basically the terrible version of Good Times that John Amos and Esther Rolle said the show was becoming in the 70s.
