Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp, who played parents Red and Kitty Forman in the original series, are set to return in “That ’90s Show.” Netflix has ordered 10 episodes of the show, which will be a multi-cam sitcom like the original. In the new series, it’s 1995 and Leia Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna, is visiting her grandparents for the summer where she bonds with a new generation of Point Place, WI, kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red. Original series creators Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner and their daughter Lindsey Turner are onboard as writers and executive producers, with “That 70’s Show” alum Gregg Mettler also writing in addition to serving as executive producer and showrunner. Smith and Rupp will executive produce in addition to starring. Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner of The Carsey-Werner Company, who executive produced the original show, will also executive produce the followup.

I want a "That 20s Show" where Red deals with current society.

Sounds like a solid concept. The nostalgia wasn’t what made the show, it was the cast chemistry. This continuation seems much better than what they tried to do with That 80s Show.

Very much in, if only because Red and Kitty are one of the GOAT sitcom parents.

This has me really looking forward to this. Other than the Coneheads movie, they have a great track record.

I watched the That 80s Show season on youtube awhile back and didn't hate it at all. It's not as good as the 70s version but I was expecting it to be much worse.

My hopes for finally having a 90's timepiece show may come true. '95 is perfect.

That 70’s Show is as bad a sitcom as any that had a 3+ year run. Just absolutely dreadful.

He said “dumbass” Savage lmao
Did you hear that? That one has an accent! Lollerskates
THEY’RE SMOKING WEED ZOMG LOL

This show was truly made for the lowest common denominator. It would fit in well in the time slot after the masked singer or Big Brother.

I'm in. Red was my favorite character. Remember how he handled the kids in That 70s Show. LOL - Imagine how he will handle the grandkid.

I loved the show back in the day, but I have to agree watching it recently, it has aged pretty poorly.

So instead of sitting in Eric’s basement watching tv and smoking pot they’ll be sitting in another basement smoking pot while listening to Nirvana and playing Smash

I can only imagine what kind of a train wreck this will be.

ETA: are they actually going to let Red be as much of a hard arse?
