I think when it started the daughter was in the dark but figured it out. That would also explain the increasingly vulgar texts. The daughter gave her permission to push the boundaries and became complicit in trying to place blame on others.
The dad is a mystery to me. He seemed way too calm when the police told him everything. Had he really been in the dark I would have expected a more explosive confrontation.

I feel like the one lesbian-looking volleyball player's mom hit the nail on the head in her interview at the end (when her husband said, "I'm so proud of her for speaking her mind."). She said that she'd told the investigators to look into the mom AND daughter from the get-go and believed that they were doing it together, insinuating that the daughter was aware and part of it. The daughter's lack of surprise when the police showed up to inform her mom the jig was up reinforces that.
I disagree here. Not that they shouldn't have looked at both, obviously they should have looked at everybody, but I don't think the daughter was in on it. She was 13. Not sure what benefit the daughter would get out of this or have any reason to go along with it. It's not like this was drawing her and her boyfriend closer together, it broke them up.
I wouldn't doubt that she wouldn't have suspected it was her mom or that thought had to have crossed her mind at some point but with the Munchausen by proxy she literally had control over her daughter. Maybe you're right, I just don't really get that vibe at all.

Yeah I don’t know about that. The cops were at their house so I think he remained as calm as possible because of that. That’s why he told her she had to leave because he said if she didn’t then he would probably be going to jail after the cops leave.

If some day my wife is sending "kill yourself" texts to our daughter, cops better go ahead and put the cuffs on me.

The daughter was also strangely calm in the body cam. It makes me wonder what sort of knowledge she had.
I think she knew it was her mom before the cops showed up. The husband may have known too. He was really focused on the fact that she had lost her job on the body cam and not so much about the texting. You gotta think if she was texting someone that much that her husband or daughter would catch on at some point. Maybe the mom was able to reframe it and convince her daughter she was doing it to frame her bully or whatever and that's why the daughter wasn't upset with her

The FBI never took it over. Bradley Peters works for the Bay City. MI police and was only an FBI liaison. Which means he basically is allowed additional access to some FBI resources, but the FBI wasn't spending any time on it.
She wasn't sophisticated in her masking and an actual Special Agent with the FBI using the full weight of the FBI probably could have had all this info in under a week.
It kind of blows my mind that it took nearly a year and a half for anyone to actually subpoena the phone numbers & IP addresses. The local sheriff’s office really looks incompetent in all of this. It’d be one thing if they just had just ignored the case, but they went through the trouble of interviewing all of these people and imaging multiple devices. It seems like running down the phone numbers would be the first thing you tried.

Both the daughter and the mom are batshit. I don’t know if the daughter was that way prior, but I would be pretty damn cautious around her.
