Since when did this start on Netflix?

Without any disclaimer like you get on movies shown for TV.

Just watched America History X and they completely cut the full opening gunfight scene...they don't even show you the REASON the main character goes to Prison for 3 years...the curbstomp death and subsequent arrest.

Is this the studios doing it or is it now being done on Netflix's end independantly? I know there have been calls in the past for Netflix to censor because anyone in the family can access the platform.

Anybody else notice where violence or sex scenes/nudity were edited out on the Netflix platform?

Wasn't the curb stomp shown later in the movie in a flashback? Furlong was writing a paper and said something along the lines of "Derrick would have gotten life if I had testified" and then they show what really happened.

I actually wouldnt mind if Netflix gave the edited option.

I wanted to let my 11 year old nephew watch The Usual Suspects last time he was down here. His mom doesnt want him cussing or like him watching R rated movies yet, so I wasnt going to piss her off by letting him see it, seeing as it says f**k 5,000 times.

That is pretty much the only reason I say that I wouldnt mind there be the TV version option on there as well. Give it a few years when my nephew can watch other movies, then I wont care.

Would be nice if we had the option of the theatrical release, the director's cut, the DVD commentary option, deleted scenes...

I'd especially hate to see the DVD commentary go the way of the 8-Track Tape.

Might be because there isn't an opening gun fight scene in the movie
