First Kill Season 1 premiered on Netflix in June with a strong debut, landing in the streamer’s Top 10 TV series list at No. 7 and eventually reaching No. 3 before dropping off the chart following its second week.

First Kill earned mixed reviews, with Decider’s Joel Keller praising the show’s “good story,” but pointing to the “clumsy” execution, which he said made the series “very hard to watch.”

The official logline for First Kill reads: “When it’s time for teenage vampire Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook) to make her first kill so she can take her place among a powerful vampire family, she sets her sights on a new girl in town named Calliope (Imani Lewis). But much to Juliette’s surprise, Calliope is a vampire hunter from a family of celebrated slayers. Both find that the other won’t be so easy to kill and, unfortunately, way too easy to fall for.”

Gawd damn.

This is definitely top-5 most under appreciated post for the history of TD.com.

I saw that advertised and pimped and I was wondering who they were going for on that one.

A lesbian vampire falls for a lesbian vampire Hunter?

Unless you’re leaning into the T&A, there’s no chance.

An interracial lesbian vampire on vampire hunter relationship. I might watch that on certain websites, if you catch my drift.

I’m shocked that a show about an interracial lesbian vampires with little to no girl on girl action didn’t succeed

"series you've never heard of"

And thanks to the OP, now I have.

Are you a masochist? There is a reason we'd never heard of it, and you telling us about it doesn't enlighten anyone.

I watched most of it. It really wasn’t that bad of a premise for what it was. The potential was there but I think they sold out a little too much.

Both of these girls are in their twenties. Euphoria hasn't lost any viewers showing "teenage" titties.

I think they were trying to latch onto the success Netflix had with the Vampire Diaries universe after those series were set to be cancelled….but yea it fell short.

Are these the same people that want to do away with HBO Max?

That’s not a “mixed review”. That’s a reviewer wanting to call the show trash, but can’t quite bring himself to do so because of the mixed race lesbian angle.
