-gay (maybe he's bi, Wikipedia just calls him "LGBTQ", strange coming from them given how left Wikipedia is)
-black
-Starred in "Sex Education" and will be in "Barbie"

All about his sexual proclivities. Take that racists!

Eta: Wikipedia has removed the LGBTQ section on his page. Was shown on his wiki page just an hour ago and now it's removed.

ETA: I think Nerdrotic Gary called this exactly, said the next one's going to be black and gay, I think almost word for word.

We should have saw this coming if anyone saw the last season of Torchwood. (Russell T Davies was the show runner).

He couldn't have done this when he launched the Dr. Who Reboot in 2005.

Russell T Davies

quote:

His early scripts generally explored concepts of religion and sexuality among various backdrops: Revelations was a soap opera about organised religion and featured a lesbian vicar; Springhill was a soap drama about a Catholic family in contemporary Liverpool; The Grand explored society's opinion of subjects such as prostitution, abortion and homosexuality during the interwar period; and Queer as Folk recreated his experiences in the Manchester gay scene.

His work in the 2000s included Bob & Rose, which portrayed a gay man who fell in love with a woman; The Second Coming, which focused on the second coming and deicide of Jesus Christ from a mostly non-religious point of view

But he didn't press those issues in Dr. Who. Capt. Jack was as far as he took it.

I’ll continue to watch my reruns and hope that they return to that form at some point. For as much shite as people gave Capaldi, I’d take him and Coleman back in a heart beat.

From what I’ve seen in the British TV groups I’m in, the news has been well received. Gatwa is really popular for his role on Sex Education and a solid up and coming actor.

He’s really really really good on Sex Education. Extremely likeable and does a fantastic acting job on that show.

Absolutely. May be my favorite on there. Most Who fans I know are just hoping for better writing in general and are happy to have Davies back.

It’s been interesting watching how quickly British culture has been subjugated . America isn’t too far behind.

Interesting choice. He’s done some really good work on Sex Education. I didn’t love the show, but his character is really good.

He’s a gay black dude who plays a role who’s defining characteristics are being gay and black. What a talent.
