In this overall genre (to the extent we can call it that) there hasn't been anything "new" since the late seventies or early eighties.

Look at at all the winners after season 1. All generic and unspectacular voices.
The worst was the 2nd winner, the bald backup singer. This is the 2nd worst, but maybe tied with last season.

This was the worst season of the show.

Hell, Matthew does what Tessane does, but with the capability of power and greater range.
Matthew got fricked by Christina picking just fricking terrible songs for him.
IMHO, though, the best voice was Ray.
Tessane was the John McCain in the sea of Rand Paul's and Gary Johnson's.

Watching last night's now, and I don't think I've ever been so bored with the Voice before. I'm barely able to watch all of the performances. I think it's maybe because I don't like anybody left at fricking all.
Also, did I miss something that there are only three left? For some reason I thought there were four still. For whatever reason I forgot/didn't realize that both Cole and James went home last week. Weird.
Christina looks fricking awesome though.
As for performances, I don't care at all. But I guess Will did pretty well. Jacquie and Tessanne did the same as they always do.
Tessanne sang the Whitney song pretty well, but nothing special really.
Will's Bryan Adams was good, but not great.
Jacquie's I'm Telling You is a song choice that immediately pisses me off. If she starts getting out of control with the screanging I'm gonna fast forward with the quickness. She sounds just okay. And now she's on her fricking knees as usual. God I hate this chick. And it ended with Christina going on stage. Of course.
None of the performances were worthy of a finals win IMO. I guess if I had to rank them then I'd have them:
Tessanne/Will
Jacquie

Tell me this, what does the final results show entail? Is there any reason for me to watch it? It seems like it's just famous people performing.

Honestly, you summed up my feelings pretty much dead on. I just wasn't excited about any of the 3 finalists. And, really, nothing last night blew me away.

Preston was my favorite, but Tessanne could flat out sing. She proved she can sing anything. IMO she was clearly the most talented and it wasn't even close.

Is it just me or are all of these "medlies" with the past contestants just awful? I'd love to see people like Matthew or Cole or Ray perform, but everyone together always kinda sucks for me. I feel like nobody knows how to sing together really, and the fact that each person basically sings one line at a time makes me care less.

I said the same thing. Have no idea if the song was good. If I was the person who wrote it, I'd be pissed. It got no real attention. Show ended before she even sang it through. Hate that too. Wasn't a great season for me.
On to the XFactor final tomorrow night and Alex and Sierra.
