Jacquie was far and away the best tonight. Cole was 2nd and I would put Will 3rd.

I agree with you about James. I read on here that he did awesome before I actually watched it. It was just ok. Same with Matthew - not his best.

I think the bottom 3 will be Ray, Caroline and Tessanne with Caroline and Ray taking it to the house.

James was alright. Didn't really care for it much. Don't think he'll go home just yet but his time is coming quickly.

Tessanne I thought was meh. She was really flat for most of that performance. Didn't do it for me and I don't like her so go home please.

Caroline brought it. Best she could do. Good performance. Still bottom 3 though.

Cole, wow. All I can say is wow. What a fricking performance. Perfect. May be the favorite now.

Mathew was okay. Sounded like he got winded from dancing and moving around to much and his vocals suffered. Love that song too but he wasn't good tonight. Yelled some lyrics too.

Will was pretty decent. Still not a fan of his at all.

Ray was really good. Was into it. Good song choice and delivered. Should be safe.

Jacquie was fantastic damn did she ever bring it. Wow. Easily safe, just behind Cole for best of the night. Damn.

Ray? Really? He was very good tonight, 3rd or 4th best IMO. And he's a crowd/ladies favorite, don't see him being bottom 3 or even 4.

I really love it when posters say stuff like that when they don't know the difference between flat and sharp.

I like Ray but everything he sings sounds the same. I hope he stays but I won't be surprised if he is gone. It has been a good run for him.

You are entitled to that opinion, of course, but you're wrong...he's terrible and massively annoying.

I could almost . . . not quite . . . but almost give you a break and say that it's a matter of opinion.

That was a terrible song choice for Ray, but he sounded good though.

But then I read that comment about one of the greatest blues rock songs in history and Ray's best performance to date, and I think this person is out of their everloving mind.

She was flat, not sharp. Flat is singing lower than it's supposed to be and that is exactly what she was doing.

Maybe they wouldn't have to rush comments if they didn't spend 30 minutes with Adam Levine and the peanut gallery sipping champagne.

Gotta have time for set changes for some of these performances.

I thought Cole and Will were the top two of the night, fantastic performances.

James and Jacquie in the second tier, solid as usual, nothing to pick apart although Christina will find a way.

Matthew and Caroline below them... I thought Caroline did a really admirable job with that song and might have given herself another week. Matthew had a down week with that song choice... I love the original version but the performance aspect took away from Matthew, in my opinion.

Ray and Tessanne at the bottom. Ray is good but that wasn't the kind of song that wins this sort of competition. I know they wanted some Jamaican influence in Tessanne's choice but that was hot garbage.

And as always, Christina sucks.

I'm not hating on the song or the performance...it's a great song and he performed it well...but I just don't think it gave Ray a lot of moments to showcase anything. Sure, he did a great job with it, but there are far better songs that he could've done better with.

As much as I like him, I think he has a chance to be done tonight. Hopefully his popularity with young girls will keep him around though.

Also, James killed the Queen song, but that's one song that I don't think will ever be done better than Marc Martel ( HERE ). That dude is just straight up Freddie Mercury, and every single time I hear that song, no matter who is singing it, I compare it to MM.

Exactly.

And that sort of song doesn't appeal to the voting bloc of this sort of show. Bottom 3 for Ray this week unfortunately.

Anyone else notice that every time Carson talks about Ray he mentions Louisiana, but never for Cole?

I think Ray is from Carencro.

Overall I thought last nights performances were great.

I put James, Will and Cole at the top.

Bottom 3 will probably be Ray, Tessanne and Caroline. I want Ray to keep going, but something about him justt doesn't seem to fit this show.

As always, Christina made sure we all got to hear her sing and ramble on for 5 minutes after every performance about NOTHING.

Also if Carson keeps mentioning how the contestants family is in the audience after each performance I may punch my TV.

This is my biggest problem with her. If she wants to be a bitch about somebody's performance, I don't really care, but get to the point and be direct about it. Jesus.

Cole is from Port City. I think Ray is from the Lafayette area.

I think Matthew is going to make a bottom 3 appearance tonight.

What an awful awful song choice for Matthew. He is probably one of the 2 best, easily one of the 3 best singers left, and that performance was just meh. That song offers nothing that a vocalist like him can do with it. One of the worst performances of the night.

etm512's Power Rankings:

1. Jacquie - another great performance and Matthew's song choice gets her to the top
2. Cole - if there were one singer on here I would want to go see perform a show it would be Cole.
3. Matthew - yes last night was that bad but still his prior performances keep him in my top 3. Can easily bounce back to the top next week
4. James - big risk = big reward. Great job with a beast of a song. Glad he pulled back on the reins a little too. He does tend to get way too involved in the song and it hurts his vocals. Not last night though
5. Will - his time is running out on this show but he continues to entertain
6. Caroline - good performance and a nice change of pace keeps her out of the bottom
7. Tessanne - Have a feeling she will be safe but I think we've seen all that she can do
8. Ray - likeable guy and a good entertainer. Just will have a hard time matching the remaining contestants vocally

Then he needs to sing a Marc Broussard song immediately. I suggest Home if he a) has the voice for it, and b) is still around next week.
