No one makes up numbers.
I guess they think theaters make money on hopes and dreams (although with film quality tanking that does seem to be the business model

im just repeating what Nate said on Theo. Could include marketing, etc.
On box office mojo, it doesnt have any money worldwide so maybe its just a US movie?
FYI its up to 11.4m after yesterday.

There are also people who still don't understand that studios negotiate each movie's revenue split individually, meaning no one knows how much of each movie's gross is going to the studio vs going to the theater. That number also changes with each passing week of a film's release. The percentage Disney gets for mandalorian is potentially different than what Disney will get for toy story 5. And what Disney got for mando in week 1 is very likely different than what they got in week 2, and different than what they will get in week 3.
If you say a given movie's box office is probably split roughly 50-50 studio-theater, you are very actively making up a number.

They just made up numbers. it's 62 million not 100 million. That is the definition of making up numbers.

Negotiated split still means 100% isn't going to the studio.
And the split is generally regressive for the studios
Such as
Opening 75/25
2nd week 50/50
Subsequent weeks 100% to theaters

I am honestly asking

Sony Entertainment is a publicly trading company. Making up numbers is fraud.
Go to jail fraud.

Terrible generic movie. This is the kind of movie that would be one of those straight to cable Disney movies.

Very wholesome movie for a family. As an adult would I watch it again, by myself like Home Alone and others? Nope.

But when he’s on TV acting, he misses the mark
i agree. I LOVE Nate but he is so awkward and tight when hes a host like the Golden Globes and most podcasts.
I haven't seen this movie yet but that is exactly the vibe I get from seeing him on screen. I tried to watch some of the game show he hosts and he just doesn't have "it". Not all standups can translate to being on screen acting or even as themselves outside of their act. Chris Rock was/is much the same way
