Who up?

The DEA gringos vs the in-fighting drama kings of the central and south american cartels. We already know no one wins, the question is, who loses the most.

I know it’s too early to say which one is better but based on the quality of season one I think I’m enjoying it more than Narcos Colombia overall.

PS lowkey there’s an unconscious LSU easter egg around minute 40 or so of episode 1 season 2.

The end of season 1 looked like a CIA death squad was going into Mexico to take care of business. I expect to see plenty of bodies getting dropped this season.

I finished through episode 5 last night.

Some thoughts:

Quavo showing up in episode 2, basically playing a poorly acted version of his own persona, and making a gratuitous Migos reference slightly cracked the 4th wall for me. Kinda funny too though I guess.

A little tired of Isabella's side plot but now that they've dedicated so much time to developing her character you know it's going to pay off in a not insignificant way.

I love it when the show pauses the story to contextualize the narrative with real history. Being that I was not born in 1985, even just glimpses of the 1985 earth quake or a specific moment in Iran Contra added something a little more tangible to the overall story.

It's funny how much of a gooftroop of a man Chapo is. Is this guy really going to be kingpin one day?

Diego Luna (Felix) continues to be great and the writers are giving him some great material midway through the season.

I just finished the season and it was good but the end was kind of a letdown for me.

Miguel Felix gave me a Pablo Escobar narcos Colombia season 2 vibe when he didn’t feel as powerful as season 1.

El Chapo’s character grows this season and I never heard El Chapo talk Before but his voice sounds like a little bitch lol

I was surprised how easy Miguel Felix got arrested without putting up a fight.

Next season will be a bloodbath with all the cartels running wild all over Mexico.

I hope we see Miguel Felix get fricked up. He started out as a guy just trying to help is family but he became an a-hole in the back half of season one. Also, I really want to see Rafa die, but apparently he is on the run in real life as an old man. I hope they explore Chapo more, I like him on the show. It will be fun to see things spiral out of control and to see the cartels kill each other.

Miguel Felix was released from prison in Mexico back in 2005 and the United States didn’t know until he was a free man. He was put back on the most wanted list.

I’m pretty sure he’s remained in jail.

Finished it this morning.

This season was good. Félix, Acosta, Walt were all great. Enjoyed the election stuff; that was some dirty shite.

Was hoping they might speed up the timeline a little bit I guess it ended in a pretty good spot. Was funny watching the plaza leaders saying how well each running their own territories was gonna go.

Pretty sure this is false. Rafa was released in 2013, though..

ETA: Just realized my typo from earlier....

Why are folks referring to em as this?

He's almost always has been described as Felix Gallardo in news accounts and pop culture.

I've never seen him described without Gallardo being used.Either with Felix or all the names used first.

Still incarcerated BTW in case anyone wants to know.

If someone is not familiar with him, that’s how they’d likely refer to him as

Here is a documentary of the Tijuana cartel with Benjamin and Ramon. It is 45 minutes long but it’s pretty good.

One thing sat with me at the end of season 2....in prison Gallardo told Breslin that the DEA would mis him. The DEA, the PRI, Mexico, and the world as a whole didn't know how true that was.

Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo held all those gangsters together as a whole way longer than anyone should have been able to....and it went to shite quickly after his demise just as he said it would.
