I love a dark comedy.

you need to broaden your sense of humor.

I like dark comedy, but Observe and Report was simply dark. It was horrifyingly depressing. Maybe not World's Gretaest Dad levels of "I wanna kill myself", but close to it.

Speaking of Worlds Greatest Dad, really, Bobcat Goldwaithe's whole career is underrated. Three words: Shakes the Clown.

Maybe it's because I watch too many thrillers & dramas but I didn't find it depressing at all. Too uplifting of an ending to be considered depressing.

Nothing to Lose with Tim Robbins and Martin Lawrence was pretty funny.

neither did I. I enjoyed it from begining to end. I don't know a lot of people who really liked Observe and Report, but I thought it was Rogans best performance in an otherwise annoying career (beside pineapple express)

with a great supporting cast of Ray Liotta, Michael Pena(was hilarious) and Anna Farris I thought it was funny as hell.

not to mention Aziz Ansari's role

See, and I felt that Rogan's character was beyond pathetic and bordered more on criminally dangerous. Him not being locked in prison is a bad thing. He borderline rapes a girl, and the scene is played for laughs. I just couldn't figure out what the movie was trying to say. It was more horrifying than funny.

One of my favorite Uncomfortable Plot Summaries:
OBSERVE AND REPORT: Emotionally disturbed man gets woman drunk, rapes her.

That's what was funny about it. He should be locked up but not only is he running around loose but he's the head of mall security. Irony.

Somehow I got the impression that it wasn't the first time she had been date raped. She seems like the type that is routinely dumb enough to get herself into those situations. She played the part of the bimbo party girl perfectly. And Ronnie being totally oblivious to her condition thinking they were making sweet love seemed fitting with his character.

I've seen far worse things in dark comedies like dismemberment to be bothered by some slutty druggie bimbo getting date raped.

I thought it was one of the most non political correct movies I've seen in a long time.

Great nominations, don't think I saw Cabin Boy on here, I thought several parts were pretty funny, but if for no other reason than the cameo by David Letterman "Man, I hate f&^kin' fancy lads!"
