It's not terribly bad right now, because they know that once the rhymes start coming on it's time to settle down for bed. So, they will often fight it. But, couldn't help but notice the similarity...

My almost two year old is obsessed with it. Every single day he's all "Cocowawa" over and over. At least most of the songs are kinda catchy, so I admittedly don't mind putting it on here and there.

I do "dad nitpick" them to death though.

My son is just over 6 months old. He doens't really "understand" it yet of course, but man the bright colors and sing-songy nature of it will keep him occupied and happy for seemingly hours. That show has been a God send.

See if you can get them into Bluey on Disney. It's actually not bad with some occasional humor only adults would understand.

I like Cocomelon a lot. It's high quality. There are a lot of rip offs on Youtube that are terrible. Thankfully, Cocomelon has branched out to Netflix and Prime. So, now we can watch without commercials or switching to another video after that one is over.

I have a 2.5 year old.

My wife and I like to joke that the dad is hammered drunk in those videos, especially the one when he goes around saying "I loooove being your daddddy."

Total drunk dad by the pool thing to say.

I will take Cocomelon back any day of the week. My kid loved it. She is 3.5 now, and she fights me daily on wanting to watch those stupid kids opening shite videos and the damn Russian kids that just do stupid stuff. It is awful. I don't get it.

Blippi too, but at least he teaches them stuff. Those kids ones are just god awful.

I dont know how Cocomelon does it though. It will put my 6 and 3 year old in a cult like trance. Its wild.

Apparently. I watch it and I'm like okay, so they're singing a song about JJ eating his vegetables. And he literally says "yes, yes, yes, I want to eat my veggies" WHILE HE EATS VEGGIES. But then the mom has to grab the stuffed monkey or elephant and be like "See? See? Monkey likes the veggies..." I'm sitting there like he's already eating them, why the hell would you feel the need to coax him into eating them with stuffed animals? You've already won.

Then my son looks at me like I'm stupid. He doesn't even know what "TV show" means yet, but he's looking at me like "Dude, it's just a TV show."

It also bothers me that these parents let JJ run around by himself with wild animals. Dude's like playing red rover with a wolf for chrissakes.

Cocomelon doesn't bother me. But like Dale Murphy said, get them into Bluey. It's the best kids show around.

I can’t watch that show with you. You criticize it too much. Just sit back and enjoy a normal family sing about carrots. Cocowawa fa life.

Btw Bluey ain’t bad at all. Now chicken squad can go jump off a bridge.

There are no regulations for children's programming on streaming services. Caveat emptor.

They had a similar one with putting his shoes on and wearing sunscreen at the playground. He literally agrees to do it and starts to do it; then the mother convinces him to do it and he's like "Oh, ok I'll do it now"

I give my wife shite because she will try to sing along and get the words wrong, and I just look at her and say "they are literally right there on the screen"

I noticed the drunk dad too, but was actually glad that they make him a competent parent. That's a lot win for me when you compare it to just about ever other TV show for kids.

Agree. But they know that's what we are trying to do when we're trying to get the to settle down for bed. Last night the youngest was running around (literally) and jumping off of the gymnastic pads when they should have been brushing their teeth for bed. Put it on, and they are in a trance within 5 minutes.

Not an ideal situation, but sometimes you just do what you have to

My daughter (now 4) loved it when she was younger. She still watches it. Her new obsession is Blippi.

Agree with Bluey in this thread. GOAT kids show.

Emily’s Wonder Lab and Gabrielle’s Dollhouse are two good ones on Netflix as well for younger kids.

The elementary teacher in JJ's class is way hotter.
