This is one of those hidden gems from the 80s that constantly gets overlooked, but it is a great watch and the soundtrack is amazing.

1984 was a huge year at the box office. It got lost in a sea of iconic and big box office films. But it was a very well- received movie .

I wish we could get a sequel based on the son he gave Jenny. He alluded to him being very important.

I'm waiting for the "Starman vs Predator" movie to get out of development hell.
Edit: More seriously, I haven't seen it in years and remember very little about it, but I do know I watched the whole thing without getting bored or turning it off, so I must have enjoyed it.

I love Starman and I'm not really a fan of sci-fi kind of stuff.
There's some great stuff in that movie. I'd love to see the sequel.

The true underrated space movie from 1984

It was a very good movie. Some excellent acting all the way around.
Plus, I always found Karen Allen to be pretty damn sexy in it. She had that smoky voice and pretty good looks. I can swear I remember they had a scene of her in the beginning where she was wearing just a shirt and her panties when she was drinking wine and watching old movies of her and her husband. But when I caught a replay (or maybe watched part of it on YouTube) a year or so ago, they didn't seem to have the panty scene.

I was a kid when this came out, but I remember my parents watching it. The only thing of any substance I recall from the movie is, “Red means stop. Green means go. Yellow means go very, very fast.”

Right! I remember that scene, him resurrecting the deer off of the hunters hood, him walking into the meteor crater in AZ and Karen Allen in her panties watching the old home movies.
Past that, I don't remember much, but I do remember really liking the movie.

One of my favorite lines in a movie: watched you very carefully. Red light stop, green light go, yellow light go very fast.

It may not be well-known, but I don't think it has ever been underrated.
Also, I think there was maybe a TV series based on the child?

Love Starman.
"I look like Scott."
Need to watch it again, been a long time. Saw it many times back in the day.

There was a TV show in the 80's based on the movie, but it was short lived. I thought it was pretty good. Robert Hays, of Airplane! fame, was the lead. I haven't seen the movie in ages, but it was solid.

Great Movie.
One of my favorites quotes:
Do you seriously expect me to tell the President that an alien has landed, assumed the identity of a dead housepainter from Madison, Wisconsin and is presently tooling around the countryside in a hopped up orange and black 1977 Mustang?

Man, I haven't seen The Last Starfighter since I was a fricking kid.
I'm legitimately curious to see how this would hold up after 20 some odd years and me being an adult watching it.
