I've never weighed over 160 in my life and am 6ft tall so I just don't grasp how they can get to that point...
until I hear there stories. All of the women generally were molested at some point in their very young stage of life, 6-10ish range.
the men are sometimes different. like the Steven cat. By far the worst person Ive seen on this show. Their mother was a whore. She'd leave them at home as children, alone, with whatever BS "food" to eat as much as they wanted while she went out bar hopping and drinking and fricking men. Not that there is anything wrong with that. But don't have kids then.

Aside from various genetic components that make people physically predisposed to weight gain, people that heavy are mentally ill.

This show is a national treasure. I'm a fat frick but watching this show makes me realize I still have plenty of time and mental capacity to turn my shite around. These people....they just can't be helped.
The foreign doctor in Houston is my favorite. He's so pessimistic because he already knows how this shite will end. He does the surgery, they lose 50-100 lbs, then slowly gain it back via enablers. It's fascinating.

I rarely watch the show, it makes me depressed and disgusted at the same time. I do recall seeing one episode where the woman's husband/boyfriend was some guy that was about 120lb and definitely a bit slow, she was losing weight then suddenly starting gaining again. Turns out he was so concerned she'd lose weight and get sexy that he started feeding her to make her gain weight.

Yes it is about calories in vs out
But people that have genetics that allow them to b skinny have a higher bmr and they think they eat enough to gain weight but they don't (the hard gainers is the term in the bro science world)

the amount of people who are "naturally" fat or skinny is so small
that's total bro science, or fat logic or whatever other term you want to use.
99.99% of people do not have metabolic abnormalities
if you're fat it is because you eat too much and if you are thin it's because you eat below or just enough for your weight.
