ou'd be better off installing plex and setting up your disney movies there.
This is what we've done. It's interesting to see what the kids have drifted towards given that they have nearly the whole Disney library at their fingertips.
My kid likes Bambi, Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, Finding Nemo, and the Toy Stories. Your mileage will vary. But let them like what they like and your fond memories of 70s Disney is gonna take a beating (mine did) when she hates on Robin Hood and The Rescuers.

does anyone know where a good copy of this can be found?
My son really likes the characters after going on splash mountain but everything I've found is pretty bootleg looking.
I bought the DVD years ago on Amazon (or maybe it was ebay). It was released overseas. So I had to pay a pretty price for it, but I do own SotS on DVD. And it's a legit DVD as well...not a bootleg (or an exceptionally made one).
Amazon seems to have it right now, and it claims to be "new." But there is no way to know without purchasing it though.
The one I bought, I remember it said that it was a

I just downloaded Plex. I converted all my DVDs to digital years ago. I can upload them to this?

I'd hold off on buying too big of a library of films until you see what your kid enjoys. Once you start sampling stuff with him or he sees something on someone else's TV, he could go off on some unpredicted tangents. (Get ready for PJ Masks).
And Rescuers Down Under is much better than The Rescuers.

yes, but it depends on the codec you used.
the semi-legal route is to rent a BD movie or check out some BDs from the library and create an 'offline' copy for your own use.
you'll quickly find you want HD versions of those DVDs.
Its all nonsense because now they're pushing 4K BD on us..which means you'll want to throw out all those shitty BD disks and get the new & improved HDR 4K versions! (oh and you'll need to upgrade your BD player)
it never ends. I own original Blade Runner on VHS and DVD, director's cut on DVD, Laserdisc version, HD-DVD version and "special edition" HD-DVD.
guess what? none of those are playable anymore
so yeah i dont feel fricking bad at all finding a very nice rip of Blade Runner online and sticking it into my plex library.

My wife is also on a Disney kick(I think she is looking for movies for her and not the baby lol) and talked me into watching Brave. It wasnt half bad. I was surprised.

time to build your disney library now while they're still on netflix because they're about to be yanked when disney launches their own 'netflix' competitor.

Check the region, because I'm pretty sure they're all bootleg in the U.S. Disney has refused to do an official U.S. release as far as I know. Or had a couple years ago when my wife was searching for a copy. Something tells me you're going to have to wait until the copyright expires in another 20 years or so for a domestic release.
