In upcoming challenge news:
One definition of entanglement: a commplicated or complex relationship.
Partners next year? Wes and John on one team? (doubt mtv would make a team that savvy but who knows).
Basically exes blended with rivals.
I figure they can easily keep the show in production. They're basically in a bubble anyway.
Just find a country like Belarus or Sweden where everything is still humming and go shoot there.

I could see a contestant becoming immune once you win your 2nd or 3rd skull. They make a rule that that player can’t be voted back in.
I thought it would have been cool if you have multiple skulls, if you lose an elim you just give one up to the person who beat you. You stay until you lose your last skull.
So a guy like Jay wouldn’t have been so fricked winning three elims and then being out the first time he loses one.
Would screw with the production schedule though if someone didn’t go home every week I guess.
But yeah, solid season. Liked the elim twist after the first leg of the final with an advantage thrown in.
The Entanglement theme should be good. I like when they pair up, as long as it’s all guy/girl or same sex. Hate when they have some teams that are mixed and some that aren’t.
Wes and Johnny would be amazing, but might be too much of power team/easy target.
I think Wes and Josh (
Not sure who Fess would pair up with as he seems pretty well liked by all, but many will want that draw.

That’s disappointing, so essentially rivals 4. I actually like the concept but many of these will be fake since the UK folks don’t have many rivals since they’re so new
I was hoping they’d go with another Simmons-like idea. John was on his podcast this week and they came up with Challenge BFFs where it’s teams of four like Battle of the Seasons with people you like. John said he’d want Leroy, Laurel and Nany. Imagine how much drama Laurel and Nany would cause

I think thats clearly just a Will/Jada joke reference and not an actual announcement.

Been out of town all week. Finally getting a chance to watch.
Not liking the finale so far. Mainly because not only is the “carry three logs at a time” seems easy, but if you’ve never skied before that shite is next to impossible if you can’t immediately pick it up. The challenge isn’t the time to learn how to ski.
Already tired of hearing about Cory’s daughter. Did you guys know he has one and one on the way? I had no idea.
How long do they film a season for? Because I can’t imagine that Melissa doesn’t know she’s pregnant. And if she does I can’t imagine they would let her compete.
I do love that it’s winner take all though. No money for second on down.
I love how “start a fire” sounds tough but then they give you a flint and kindling.
HATE that there is another tribunal. That’s bullshite to make it to a final and then get chosen to leave. That’s a stupid twist IMO.
I hope they at least have to do an elimination. But if Fessy and Kaycee don’t get chosen they are the dumbest people imaginable.
Ok. At least it’s for an elimination. Melissa quit. Ha. Not a surprise. I’m surprised she made it this far honestly. But frick that has to piss off several girls that were close to making it.
Rogan volunteering is funny since he would have been voted.
Cory choosing John is stupid but I get it too since he’s so experienced.
John, you aren’t in “knee-deep snow.” Wtf?
So two girls have now quit. Good job. I know Bayleigh is hurt, but still. She continued. And Cory was right, she quit when she realized she had to sleep outside.
I love Kyle so much. Fessy getting silent and ignoring him was hilarious. But I’d have been chatting with that dude all night.
I always love how much these people suck at literally simple elementary math.
Fessy gassing out. Cory called it.
What a pretty easy challenge. “Hey, walk in this snow...” and I cane believe Jenny won first overall. She should get the whole million IMO.
I don’t like John for the most part, but he played a great challenge this season.
I wonder what the final times were, and if the minute headstarts made a difference.

A hearty “frick you” to Korin, who jumped into The Challenge thread before this season started and spoiled the winner.
What fricking loser goes on Vevmo to read spoilers and then posts about them in order to ruin other people’s experience?
He’s done that several times before. And if he does it again, he’ll be banned for the entirety of the season.

By the way, I didn't know it was some rule or something that you can't talk about realizing people are insane before other people do. Apparently that's like the worst thing to talk about on a Challenge thread.
Nah. You’re basically bragging about crazy people on a reality show that we’re basically always crazy and trying to claim that you knew it before anybody else. It’s an odd take, and pretty much everybody else saw the same show you did and drew the same conclusions.
Turbo was obviously nuts since he’s been on the show. But you “called it.” Congrats. So did everybody else.

I said that early this season. You should gain some sort of advantage in the game by winning multiple eliminations IMO. I can just remember they season where Frank and that chick he was banging kept getting voted in over and over. They won several but eventually lost because it’s almost impossible to just win every time.
ETA: I didn’t realize Jenny was a twin. And her twin looks a lot more normal than she does. Her face is just jacked to no end.

She knew she was pregnant and told production beforehand. TJ and the cast didn’t know. She told production she wanted to quit the final, production told TJ to take it easy on her but they couldn’t say why, so he didn’t give her shite for quitting.

Finally listened to the Bill Simmons interview with John and it was pretty good, especially them talking about old cast members and old finals. John really kind of let MTV have it (in a nice way) saying that forever MTV and the Challenge execs cared nothing about any viewer group except 18-30.
He said he thinks they finally realized that was stupid and the Challenge fanbase is made up of people around Johhny's age and older that have watched him and all the other OGs since they were on the Real World and are a dedicated and loyal fanbase.
He said people these new kids from other shows come on the Challenge and always talk about how good and huge the fanbase is.
He and Simmons also reminisced about the old real world days and how it was such a feeder system to the challenge and the reason the OGs are so much more loved is because they were vetted and had to be interesting and unique personalities because they made the cut on Real World against so many others. He said Fresh Meat are all people that barely missed the cut to be on the Real World back in the day.
John said there was 200,000 people that auditioned for his season of Real World. I remember articles about how it was harder to get in the Real World in its heyday than to get into Harvard.
He said mtv should go back to that mindset of casting, and that too many "reality stars" now are basically just hot and/or total train wrecks so they get attention, but there's nothing else under the surface to grab the audience's attention.
Simmons said he disliked all the Brits, but John basically said they are kind of in the mold of the old Real World cast and that there's nobody else on the planet like Bear, Kyle, Georgia, and Melissa.
He said he wished Real World would come back and mtv would show old challenge seasons a couple hours a day instead of 24 hours of Rob Dyrdek.
It was a fun listen. John sounds like he doesn't have much left in the tank but that he and Wes are still going to work together again because they finally figured out that their rivalry was making it too easy for lots of other people and many were making finals that shouldn't have.
He also said Fessy had no idea how much altitude affects the body and died just like CT did in Exes 2 on a glacier in Iceland. He said Rivals 1 was the hardest final he's ever done, not this one. He said this one was only 12 miles total, but the snow and altitude killed most of the finalists.

Definitely reminded me of the old days when Simmons and Jacoby would dedicate entire podcasts to the challenge. They even came up with a fantasy scoring system for when each cast member had sex, hooked up or got wasted
The interesting part of that was in responses to Bill’s question of why can’t they do another Fresh Meat 3. Like you said, the Fresh Meat folks were essentially alternates for the Real World. So they fit that mold already — Laurel, Cara Maria, Kenny, Evan, Evelyn, Theresa, etc.
I
when Simmons compared it to an elite AAA farm system how The Challenge used to have all these five-tool players and would call them up to the big leagues. Now they have to haphazardly find new talent from the most random shows we’ve never hears of

He also said that Kyle, who is diabetic, smuggled a medical syringe up his arse as he ran up that mountain and stood all night in his inaugural challenge.
The male Brits are actually a great addition.
Bear
Joss
Rogan
Kyle
those are legit competitors.

He is so checked out. I know he is annoyed because he lost to a prospect, but he is so disengaged. Only Nany was that bad, after she had her 45th mental breakdown on the show after she tried to blame Aneesa for getting yelled at
“How dare you let me yell at you and insult you”
Wes, Kyle, Ashley, Cory, etc are all engaged and joking with each other, etc and CT is taking a nap, checking his phone, and complaining about how long this is taking. He is the epitome of a guy who is there for an appearance check. 30 grand, 50 grand. Whatever it is, he will take it and go home whenever he has no more gas left in the tank.
It’s also funny that he is kind of mouthing off to Vernon Davis because Vernon Davis is to CT what CT in his prime was to most of the challengers.
Melissa and Kyle definitely fooled around on the show but how is the baby conspiracy still a thing? She has a blatantly biracial baby. You don’t need an MD or a PhD in biology to realize two blonde Brits can’t produce such a child
I think Melissa was just covering for Kyle since he has a gf now apparently.
Zach looks absolutely miserable. Jenna too. I think Jenna has convinced herself that this is what happiness is like, and she is dumb enough and submissive enough to fall for it.
I guess next week we will learn a bit about Jenna and who she was talking with. The rumor is Cory, but I’ve also heard Tony. Tony would hurt a lot more for Zach.

Was the “reunion” even worth watching? And there are two weeks of it..???
Posted on 7/23/20 at 9:08 am to CocomoLSU
It was similar to most reunions, actually a little less contentious.
So if you liked them in the past, I would watch. Not really better or worse than usual.
Next week is a 1 hour “shite they should have shown” thing, based on the preview.

It was meh. Something to kill time with.
I can't believe I'm saying this(thought Boo was gay for it), but non-roided out botoxed up Jenny looked pretty good.
