RT score at 98%, overall consensus seems to be its definitely a more light hearted and teen focused show compared to previous MCU entries. However there’s been a lot more comparison to the show being more of a John Hughes style than anything else. I mean as long as it’s not CW style I think it has potential like most of their MCU movies and shows

Inb4 the hatred starts for a show people haven't seen.

I'll watch it, I'm sure.

Preview seemed interesting and I'm a whore for MCU stuff.

I’m looking forward to it, honestly. I’ve enjoyed the trailers I’ve seen so far.

I blame this on that incredibly catchy Weekend song they use.

I might give it a look because I’m a completionist and the MCU has had me hooked for this long. But looking at the story and the feel of the show, I don’t think this is targeted towards me and my tastes. And that’s okay.

I'll probably give the first episode a watch and see how it feels.

I'm not a fan of the change in her backstory or power set, and how she's a Captain Marvel fan in the comics (as a character that's been around forever) makes WAY more sense than being one in the MCU (as Carol seems almost permanently absent from the planet).

I will give it a shot. The MCU has ranged from eh, its there to really good on Disney+. I'm hoping it leans more to the latter than the former.

I’d imagine they changed her powers to not confuse the audience with her powers and Mr. Fantastic. And yeah the Carol thing makes sense but who knows what’s happened in the time between now and Endgame. Plus Hawkeye literally featured a massive fan of Hawkeye and he hasn’t done much either

There is no possible way that critics rate this show honestly.

The only way to judge the show will be to watch it ourselves.

Every form of media is subjective, so not everything will appeal to every person. We always have to judge ourselves.

In the context of RT critics reviews are rarely anything to go on, whereas audience is always more telling. If both are good or bad, you can trust the show/movie is as well. If they differ, the audience score typically is a better measure. If both are 80-90+, like No Way Home, you have a bonafide hit on your hands. Even still, it may not appeal to every person. To each their own

Joplin also had a 98 on Rotten Tomatoes but the algorithm killed it.
