Acclaimed actor and director Andy Serkis reinvents Rudyard Kipling’s beloved masterpiece, in which a boy torn between two worlds accepts his destiny and becomes a legend. Mowgli has never truly belonged in either the wilds of the jungle or the civilized world of man. Now he must navigate the inherent dangers of each on a journey to discover where he truly belongs.

They did it in the mid 90s. Don't confuse the Disney version with the real version.

Looks good. Hopefully it follows semi-closely to Kipling.

The 90's movie was Disney Pictures as well.

It looks so similar that I honestly thought this was a sequel to the one from a couple years ago. So now not only are they doing live-action remakes of classic animated movies, but they are making multiple versions?

Seems weird. Whatever.

One is a remake of a Disney cartoon.
One is an adaption of the original book.

I get it, but that's splitting hairs a bit IMO. That would be like someone making a live action Transformers and then a year or two later someone else making one and saying "That one was based on the toy line, this one is based on the cartoon" or something like that.

I know that. I'm obviously referring to the Disney animated version that the live action remake was based on.

Should be fun. One of my favorite books of all time.

Looks like it has Tabaqui and Hathi in it, which is pretty cool. And it looks like it might have the actual fight with the Bandarlogs. Thats when you really see what kind of bad arse Bagheera is, none of the takes on it have really shown his character fully. Maybe even have Kaa join the fighting.

I think the CGI was better in the other recent one. Which is surprising considering Serkis is involved. These animals all look weird.

Warner Bros probably didn't spend near as much for the CG.

This preview didn't do much for me. Not sure why anyone would expect this to be any good considering WB has such little faith in it they sat on it for two years before selling it Netflix. The original release date was supposed to be October of 2016. That's a massive red flag pointing towards it being terrible.

pretty sure they sat on it because the other one came out in 2016 and was going to beat them to the theatre

Don't confuse the 90's Disney movie with the REAL Disney movie that was released in 1967.
