I was watching Limitless and i thought "i just want to watch this dude dominate random shite on NZT"
The plot with DeNiro and the Russian thugs was dumb and just ate up time.
I get it. Movies need plots. But i just wish it didnt haha.
The original Spiderman movie was the best when he was just figuring out that "holy shite, im Spiderman".

Not a movie, but the first episode of Last Man on Earth where we just see him doing all the crazy things we would do with the entire Earth at our disposal was better than anything that happened after. I think I would've been satisfied with 6 episodes of that with minimal plot instead of what we got.

Delete the Tom/Haruko love story from Midway.

By no plot, do you mean like a reality show, or nature documentary?
Hmm.. if I were to turn a TV show/movie into a reality show or documentary...
The criteria would have to follow multiple characters and not focus on just one. It wouldn't work if there was a singular hero or goal. Franchises with Universes are already set up to do this:
Game of Thrones could work in a reality show type format. It could just keep going and going, and would work if nobody was really a hero.
Do Marvel Universe the same way. You could pick whatever characters you want and follow them for a day. It could work because everyone is a hero.
Others:
Star Wars
Star Trek
Lord of the Rings
DC
Pirates of the Carribean

I’d say so. The more intricate the plot, the worse the movie is. Just have Hulk smash shite as he tries to catch the bad guy for stealing money. Iron Man with emotional issues and reversing time to cover plot holes don’t work as good.

I dont think thats exactly what i mean.
i think what im saying is a movie where the writer came up with a cool concept or environment (i.e. a drug that makes you super smart and observant) and then says "alright now lets write a story around that concept" but the story is less interesting than the concept.
I would have watched an entire movie of just the first half of Disturbia with Shia being locked in his house trying to holler at a hot neighbor.
I actually think a perfect example of a movie that didnt really have a plot and just allowed you to enjoy the concept in different scenarios was Big.

I see what you are saying, but he would've killed himself before the first episode ended if Carol had not showed up.

The Witcher feels that way at first.

Cool thread idea. Agree on post-apocalyptic stuff where you just to follow the main character around.
Bloodsport didn't need the love story or Fed guys side stories. Just give us the tourney.
Highlander too for that matter.

I’m old enough to remember this site when the only response this thread would’ve gotten is “Backdoor Sluts 9”

Backdoor Sluts 9 makes Crotch Capers 3 look like Naughty Nurses 2

The current Godzilla movies.
The DCU movies.
The random Star Wars side movies.
In all of these, I already know the backstory and the characters, and I'm pretty sure most of us do. So take the concept, make it LOOK as good as possible, and give us 2 hrs of basic action.
Godzilla- giant monsters stomping shite.
DCU- give us superheroes fighting villains.
The Star Wars stuff- just give us some "we're at war in space" stuff, or similar.
It's why we tune into those, don't make it convoluted and full of other junk.

Hot take: Top Gun
Absolutely love that movie
But I would love it even more with more dogfighting and awesome airplane shots... less gay volleyball
