Corollary to the thread about movies that go well with a Scotch, some movies are so gut-wrenching that you simply NEED a drink.

The Road

I'm a teetotaler, so I can only speculate with some of these things, but I'll offer:

Requiem for a Dream

None. I wish a movie made me feel like I had to have one..

I miss being emotionally impacted by art.

I’ve done it, but it’s much better watching The Good Bad and Ugly while drinking cold beer

there is a completely unnecessary and unwelcome flashback subplot regarding the Man’s wife. Otherwise it follows the book almost exactly so if you liked it you’ll like the movie

Not exactly what you're asking, but the big lebowski always ends with me buying stuff to make white russians.

Leaving Las Vegas.

You need a drink to handle this dark movie, but ironically, you’ll swear off drinking by the middle of it.

Probably the most-accurate interpretation of a major work of literature that I have ever watched.

If anything, more bleak than the book.

EDIT

I agree with the poster who commented on The Wife. Unnecessary, but Theron was a fan of the book, and it added star power.
