I also love "Men at Work" with Charlie Sheen, Emilio Estevez and others whose names escape me in my drunken stupor.

Act of Valor

26% RT

Sure the acting was subpar but the action scenes were badass. Plus...knowing those were real Seals earned respect in my book.

The Big Year.

$41 million budget and only made $7-8 million at the box office. it's ~40% of Rotten Tomatoes.

Deep Blue Sea got 56% on RT. I love Deep Blue Sea.

Sam Jackson's death scene, the LL Cool J theme song, it delivers beginning to end, and every time it is on TV, I will stop and watch.

That's an enjoyable movie. I've seen it twice.

It doesn't hit you over the head, it's not slapstick. It's thoughtful.

Sure the subject matter isn't terribly exciting but the characters are excited about the subject matter.

And it doesn't try to be funny. There are no stupid gags. It's a fairly earnest movie about a subject almost nobody cares about but it works.

You really believe that these characters care a lot about chasing birds around the country.

It's one of those small movies that nobody sees but works and is entertaining. It's very subtle.

This.

Comedies in general are an easy answer to this...

Beerfest, Dirty Work, good answers. I'm probably one of the few that would add Freddy Got Fingered. I'm a sucker for that kind of absurdist humor.

Lots of horror films too - Saw was 49%, Nightbreed 39%, High Tension 40%, Friday the 13th Part 2 - 32%.

I could go on

I'm no birder, but I inadvertently found myself among a large group of them in the Everglades and they're an entertaining crowd. I had quit a job that I was sick of and took a roadtrip to the Keys and the Everglades. It was mid/late February and apparently that's a popular time for the birders. It was amazing to see how enthusiastic they were about spotting different birds. I bet there was a few hundred thousand dollars worth of cameras, lenses, and optics among a group of about 75 or 100 of them. Some came in by the bus load. It was nuts.

ETA: I saw a Woody Stork, which was on the endangered species list in 1998. So I've got that going for me if I ever start compiling a birding life list.
