Pretty Much anything John Williams LOL.

Could you imagine Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars Superman just to name a few with the amazing soundtrack that made your hair stand up on your neck?

I don't know if this topic has been discussed but it's back.

UPDATE: Of course I'm not talking about musicals.

Last of the Mohicans

The sequence from the time they put Duncan on the fire until Magua is killed will be studied by future civilizations.

Once Upon a Time In The West. Sergio Leone actually crafted his scenes around Morricone’s score instead of the other way around. It would have literally been a completely different film without Morricone.

American Graffiti

The movie had such a small story about typical kids leaving H.S. and lament they're moving on in ONE night.

The movie is nothing without the soundtrack.

Lucas was smart enough to realize, this movie sort of sucks...lets make the entire movie one enormous soundtrack of ALL the best songs of the 50's.

The Soundtrack went Triple Plantinum.

Disc: 1
1. (We're Gonna) Rock Around the Clock
2. Sixteen Candles
3. Runaway
4. Why Do Fools Fall in Love?
5. That'll Be the Day
6. Fannie Mae
7. At the Hop
8. She's So Fine
9. The Stroll
10. See You in September
11. Surfin' Safari
12. (He's) the Great Imposter
13. Almost Grown
14. Smoke Gets in Your Eyes
15. Little Darlin'
16. Peppermint Twist
17. Barbara Ann
18. Book of Love
19. Maybe Baby
20. Ya Ya
21. The Great Pretender

Disc: 2
1. Ain't That a Shame
2. Johnny B. Goode
3. I Only Have Eyes for You
4. Get a Job
5. To the Aisle
6. Do You Wanna Dance
7. Party Doll
8. Come Go with Me
9. You're Sixteen
10. Love Potion No. 9
11. Since I Don't Have You
12. Chantilly Lace
13. Teen Angel
14. Crying in the Chapel
15. A Thousand Miles Away
16. Heart and Soul
17. Green Onions
18. Only You (And You Alone)
19. Goodnight, Sweetheart, Goodnight
20. All Summer Long

It really was lazy filmmaking but it worked. The movie is fun and fun to watch but mostly because of the Soundtrack.

Psycho
Originally, Hitchcock wanted no music during the shower scene. Bernard Herrmann talked him into letting him try it with the musical composition Herrmann composed for the scene. Hitch immediately knew it was the way to go. It’s hard to imagine the film without that music now. I don’t know if the score was the difference between Psycho being merely good to great, but it would not be the same film without it.

Dazed and confused was pretty good anyway, but damn, that movie had a badass soundtrack.

The Passion of the Christ.

Mel Gibson initially balked at the idea of a musical score, but John Debney wrote a powerful score that made the impact of the visuals much more compelling.

His Resurrection theme is one of the most iconic tracks found in a biblical movie.

The Big Easy soundtrack almost made Dennis Quaid's pronunciation of "cher" tolerable.
