I agree with all of these, but I don't think the typical poster here likes these films.

Please, Back Door Sluts 9 makes Crotch Capers 3 look like Naughty Nurses 2.

Its a 40 year old movie, but Chinatown spoilers follow.

You're kidding, right? You think Chinatown had a bad ending?
I really was going through a phase of Jack Nicholson man love and I was so excited to see this movie. I don't remember every detail of the movie, but I remember it being really slow. And I remember the ending quite well.

The lady gets killed, her teenage daughter gets hauled off by her grandfather dad, nothing is really wrapped up with the whole dam building, murder mystery. And Jake is just standing there with a band aid on his nose while his buddy is saying "Its just Chinatown."

No, I didn't like the ending.

I love District 9. But I can see why somebody wouldnt care for it.

I thought it was very creative and was impressed how it turned out given how much money they spent on it and they actors they used.
The protagonist made me hate him at the beginnning of the movie. Then made me sympathize for him towards the end. I think you have done your job well if you can make me have to strong feeling towards you during one movie. I think its extremely tragic but yet a fantastic ending.

It's actually all wrapped up, Noah Cross was behind it all. The bad guy gets away with it and corruption wins the day.

He says, "Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown."

Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan

ETA: Scott Pilgrim seems to be the new one everyone else likes, but I wasn't a fan.

ETA again: There Will Be Blood, Gangs of New York - yes, I realize that DDL is a great actor, but I just didn't like these movies.

I got all that. I was just more interested in the dam scandal than the incestous stuff. And it seems as if all the dam corruption scandal/murder mystery just got dropped without really resolving that whole part of the story and started focusing on Jack and Faye's relationship.

Maybe I shouldn't equate "I really, really, really, really disliked the ending" with "shitty ending". But I think most peole do.

That was all explained in the scene before when Jack confronts Cross with Mulwray's eye glasses.

I've thought about giving it another shot but why would I when I hate the ending.

Maybe you'll like it better a second time?

Chinatown isn't really a movie that you should take it all in with just one viewing.

I liked em. But like scarface, it always seemed like the "cool" movie to name drop. Wasn't great IMO.
