Was my description wrong or did you stop reading after Narnia?

Forrest Gump is the obvious answer here.
Yes. The book sucked.

I love the movie, but can't agree.

Umm, if you really enjoy a book more than a movie you are probably a very boring person. That's why we have movies. So you don't need to read.

Hmmm. Not so sure about this one. I thought the novella was fantastic, and I wasn't happy about some of the minor plot changes, but I agree that the movie expanded on the story and gave it more drama which made the movie so very enjoyable.

I think both were awesome.

Yeah the books are some of the most influential ever and were pioneering for the genre but they are murder to get through. Do we really need 5 pages of Legolas singing every 3 chapters?

I agree with this, Tom Bombadil is perhaps my least favorite literary character ever

I read "Wise Guys". Fantastic book, but the job they did with the movie is once in a generation IMO.

Jaws

The movie has a 40' mechanical shark and explosions while the book has...pages.

Fwiw--John William's score (just two notes actually) put this movie over the top.

No love for Tom Bombadil?

I think he's uniquely powerful and also extremely simple. He's like a male version of mother nature. He was a bit ill defined, but I always took that as being mysterious.

"Stand By Me" was better than "The Body" novella.

I just read "Silver Linings Playbook" and I liked the movie better. That could be becasue I want to bone J-Law until my penis falls off though.....

The fact that the ring has NO effect on him makes him extremely interesting to me.

Misery.
Goodfellas.
No Country for Old Men.
The Silence of The Lambs.

All pretty good books, but great films, imho.

Yeah Fellowship was a great book. It didn't start getting a little longwinded until the second book IMO. Frodo doesn't even make an appearance until like page 275.
