How does Desperate Housewives or a show that has not premiered yet fit on that list?

Even some of the spoof movies of the last 10 years have been good or at least not lowest common denominator. For instance:

Shaun of the Dead
Hot Fuzz
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story
Undercover Brother

Family Guy appeals to people who think they're clever or smart but are really a part of the LCD.

Jersey Shore

I can talk all day about how soulless reality shows are but I am not afraid to admit that Jersey Shore is the tits. If anything, it's because Pauly D, Sitch, and Snooki are just so damn likable. If they weren't on the show I wouldn't dare watch.

I absolutely can't stand any reality television... but I dont knwo what it is about jersey shore that is so entertaining. I was actually a bit conflicted when I saw my first episode and didn't feel the need to stab each and every character in the back of the head.

But all the spoof... god who watches those movies????

Wrong. That show is just funny. But I'm not surprised you would craft this idea.

True but to be fair you actually have to have "humor" to qualify for the same kind of humor and The Simpsons has not had any for at least 6 or 7 years now.

%90 of all TV does this. It's why the majority of cable drives me crazy. Not that i'm trying to act like some genious, because i'm not, far from it. But there is a TON of crap TV out there. And not just reality TV. If a station comes up with something good, every other major station has to have a knock off version.
I cant tell you the last time I really enjoyed a good Drama or Sci Fi on regular TV. Not counting HBO, Showtime etc... Well, LOST was ok, and The Black Donneleys on NBC had potential, but it got the ax after one season. But still, it's slim pickings.

AnyChuck Lorre show. Ex.
2 and a half men
Big bang theory
and Mike and Molly (although I haven't seen this one yet but we all know that the jokes will be about fat people).

If anything, at least some of the jokes require a somewhat higher level of intelligence to fully understand. Certainly above the lowest common denominator.

I don't think he means these (well, maybe Undercover Brother), but I think he's more talking about stuff like Date Movie, Epic Movie, Superhero Movie, etc.
