Finally set up my Yamaha 5.1 system (nothing special, just a home theatre in a box, but it’s perfect for the size apartment I’m in.)

Any suggestions on movies that will put the system to use? Something on Netflix or Amazon, I’m assuming Iron Man or Captain America: Civil War? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Or YouTube videos.

The old school go to was always Jurassic Park for the subwoofers.

Saving Private Ryan used to be my "go to" for that.

I'm sure there are better options now though.

ETA: I see I'm very late

That was my first experience with DVD. Played it on my new TV at the time as well. It was trippy back then

I saw The Matrix when I was young. Had me questioning reality.

You joke, but one of my only memories of Circuit City was sitting and watching that looped scene maybe eight times while my dad was arguing with some employee about a palm pilot

Two old school movies but have the best surround effects.

Days of Thunder - when they are standing in the middle of the track as Rowdy is starting his laps. It's right after Robert Duvall says "Now there is a race car driver". The sound goes all the way around the room as the car goes around the track.

12 Monkeys - the scene where Bruce Willis is in a cell and someone is talking to him. He asks where they are and as the person answers it goes to the different speakers as he is stating the different places he may be. I may be in the next room, or I may just be in your head, etc, etc, etc. Makes your skin crawl.

The Matrix. When he does the bullet dodge it sounds incredible. The sound goes around in a circle following the shot.

That gives me an idea....Rush would be great to listen to with surround sound speakers. Not the band, but the movie with Chris Hemsworth as a F1 driver. Awesome movie. Basically is the dramatic version of Talladega Nights
