I always thought Private Pyles suicide seemed pretty realistic.

The Godfather has a ton of these.

Michael shooting Sollazzo and the police chief in the restaurant.

Sonny getting massacred.

More Greene getting it in the eye.

Out for Justice, When Richie out of nowhere just executes a woman because she told him to move his car.

Just was so out there and violent that it was shocking.

And shocking things become memorable but not in a good way.

The scene is on YouTube. Out for Justice: Road Rage.

A powerful moment in TV history, and one that wouldn't get made today.

Magnum was pretty realistic with a big injection of "fun" in it... not quite a comedy, but plenty of comedic moments. Not a grim show by any means.

He was confronting the former Spetsnaz operative that tortured him and his team in Vietnam, who now was a diplomat. Although the guy was trying to kill him, he had no hard evidence, and Ivan was unarmed and smugly saying you can't touch me.
Magnum started to walk away, asked the question, then turned and- by all legal standards- just murdered him.
