Sinister is up there for me. I love horror movies, but was very disappointed by it. Almost all of the scary moments were in the previews/trailer, which can be the case for many horror films. I loved Insidious (the first 2/3 at least) and had high hopes for this one.

Not sure if it's the MOST disappointing movie, but Taken 2 sure was a let down.

I still try and convince myself I like it.

The Village. I thought it was gonna be epic. It wasn't.

Within the last year, Sinister and Gangster Squad are up there for me.

quote:Blair Witch Project. Great hype and trailers, but the movie (if you can call it that) was sooooo bad and dumb; it wasn't even laughable.
What you got?
And also count the Godzilla remake. A major, major let-down.
And for worst recents, see Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. It was awful.

Alexander, I'm a huge history buff and that movie was such a pile of hot vomit I walked out.
This for me as well.
Huge disappointment. Finally a moderately great director was going to bring this Ancient Civilization to life!
Nope. It was like a daytime soap. I still don't understand how that movie became the mess it became.

The Bourne Ultimatum sucked. The Bourne Supremecy wasn't as good at TBI, but I was hoping the third installment would bounce back. Instead, it was a bad John Woo movie.
Also, I thought TDK was an incoherent mess.

The Dark Knight - feel asleep 2 hours in.
It's obviously a good movie but I was expecting to like it better than Begins... I didn't.

Good one. I was very upset after just assuming it was good and buying the bluray right when it came out.

Sucker Punch. Seemed like everything I wanted in a film. Hot chicks in skimpy dresses, Nazi zombies, bad-arse samurai, fricking dragons vs helicopters, cyborgs; where could you go wrong with something like this. Snyder found a way, and I was incredibly disappointed by it.

I'm not sure how the answer could be anything else. An entire generation grew up on these films, waited decades for more and then got slapped in the face by George's old man ballsack. Yeah Phantom Menace definitely wins this one.
