the ending to I Am Legend sucked hard.

any M. Night movie outside of Sixth Sense and Unbreakable was terrible. and those two were just decent.

I thought No Country for Old Men and Pulp Fiction were both awesome, ending and all.

It's a good ending, but a real downer. My wife loved the movie till the end but now hates it (ie. the ending pissed her off)

It's an incredibly enormous downer, but I still think it's one of the most effective endings I've seen. Doesn't take away from the awesomeness of the movie in my opinion.

I liked the Village. The ending was the whole point. It was about legends and their place in society. If you don't like the end of The Village, I just don't think you get it.

As for movies with bad endings:

Four Feathers (this movie pisses me off so much I can't even get into it)
The Happening (WTF was the deal with the old crazy lady at the end?)
I am Legend (probably the worst offender)

One of the most overrated movies EVER, IMHO; along with Napoleon Dynamite.

I felt cheated after watching these movies, like I wasted time watching them.

The Italian Job (remake)- compared to the original, this ending sucked hard.

Return of the King - actually, I'm just glad it finally ended. I was pissed it took two hours of gay hobbit time to do. And what happened to taking back the shire. Damn you Jackson you pretentious prick.

Hannibal - she should have been on the plane with him.

Ocean's Eleven - see comment for Italian Job.

When I was a kid... I watched the movie with an astronaut who was on the moon and running out of oxygen. He could see his ship and was walking toward it. His oxygen was almost gone and he was still a good distance from his ship. As the alarm was going off, signaling he was out of oxygen, the movie ended. It didn't show if he made it or not. That pissed me off.

I could probably start a whole thread on these movies but I was not a big fan at all, especially for all the hype and awards it received. But I guess your script is already written for you and it's hard to get away from the ending. Either way, still not a fan.

I understand and I got that. But it made the entire movie unbelievable. I thought it would have been better had she not been the killer.

If you understand and picked up on it then i dont' really follow what becomes unbelievable? (aside from the convenient store scene). Her being the killer made that movie a hell of a lot better.

we'll agree to disagree

Edited: I would maybe put this in my personal top ten of horror movies. Mainly for its gore.

Also the Hunting of Molly Something

They cut the movie at the end which was weird.

I thought the original Planet of the Apes movie and the ending were very good. When he rides up on the Statue of Liberty it just made it awesome.

Then they remake the movie and I don't think I really ever understood it. What did he do? Did he go back in time and come back? Did he go back to an alternate reality that just happened to have apes also? I didn't understand it and I haven't seen the movie in a while.

So I would nominate Planet of the Apes(remake) because the original ending was so good IMO and the new one sucked.

In the Mouth of Madness

Is probally one of the most under appricated horror movies ever. I remember how much it creeped me out the first time I saw it.

I Am Legend was a good movie with a horrible ending.
