Been streaming that with my teener - holds up very well and is quite entertaining - mystery combined with comedy worked for me as a kid and my daughter loves it…
All episodes available only when users uploaded to YouTube… in mid season 2 now…

There was a book published recently about Moonlighting.
I think the general premise of the book is to remind people it was a groundbreaking and influential show, and it generated huge buzz and won a bunch of awards.
However, it’s been largely forgotten. DVDs are hard to find and very expensive, it was never in syndication, and hasn’t been available on a streaming platform.

How was it groundbreaking? I remember seeing it some as a kid. It's somewhere near Remington Steele in my memory vault. But I've never read anything about its influence.

I loved that show. They worked great together. Willis' character was a really good one for the 80's. He seemed like a really cool guy. He was kind of the dude guys wanted to be.
If I watched the episode this pic is from, I probably went into work the next day, took my coat off, and leaned back on someone's desk during our morning sales meeting. Just like Bruce, I looked good enough to make sloppy look cool. It was the 80's, and I was barely 20. We were living in a music video, until, first herpes, then the outlawing Ecstasy and then aids, popped the bubble.
The world was better when flirting with someone you think you'd want to spend time with, wasn't questionable behavior. It was expected. A little banter back and forth to see if they have a brain and a sense of humor. If you didn't like her, or she didn't like you, no harm, no foul.
I had heard they would let you know if they weren't interested.
Isn't this basically the way humans have lasted on earth this long.

They were nominated for everything and won some of the artsy categories in their second year and beyond.

Color of Night was another great Bruce Willis flick, though not appropriate for a 13 yo girl. A 13 yo boy might enjoy Jane March in the pool.

I loved this show. It's only on YouTube?

I remember watching this show as a kid sometimes with my mom and really liking it. I am not sure if I’ve even seen it since then, but I remember it being pretty damn funny.
And seeing how much the DVDs are….holy shite. Quick search on Amazon seems like it’d be like $300-400 to get all five seasons.

Any chance the videos are available for District 2? Often the European versions are a fraction of the cost of US versions and a player that plays both is a lot less than $50.

—-then you should re-watch Moonlighting, especially S 2. It’s lightyears beyond Remington Steele.

I bought all the seasons on DVD several years ago simply for the nostalgia. I had watched them and enjoyed them when I was a teenager. Decades later, my preteen daughter and I loved watching them together. I always enjoyed the witty dialogue and the many allusions. I may have to give it a rewatch. I also love the theme song by Al Jarreau.

Ick. The only problem was that a lot of guys don't get the message when they aren't liked. They think they are cool and how could someone possibly not like them.
I was first starting my career in the early 80's as well. Banter was mostly fun. Fun, until it was a gross, old guy that talked to you all the time. I really did like the 80's and we've gone way too far. But too many guys just don't get the message.
