Is it me or does it sound like Ryan Gosling is doing the voice of Marc Spector??
Yes, they actually got Gosling to be the voice actor for Marc bc production felt Oscar Isaac didn't sound enough like Oscar Isaac.

The vast majority of the Egyptian gods had some sort of animal head.

I prefer Melissa Bonny with my bird masks.

Fun fact, khonshu is also the Egyptian god that had his tablet reanimate all the guys in Night at The Museum.

I’m liking it, but the Steven persona is becoming unbearable. I just wanna see Oscar Isaac go full horror ham on baddies.
Also. The CGI cape is just not well done like Strange’s cape. Makes the costume a bit weird in motion.

Finally watched both episodes. Newsflash for those that hate Steven - he’s not going away. The season will end with Steven and Marc working together, which means a lot of back and forth. Steven’s exchange with Layla about poetry and the knowledge of Egyptian hints that he actually has more going on and he’ll become more useful as the season goes on, especially once we find out Marc’s weaknesses
Otherwise I’m really liking this so far. Khonksu seems powerful and intimidating until he’s not - he has to work through his avatar, and clearly like all the Egyptian gods he has his own motives at heart. Ammit & Ethan Hawks seem pure evil and like the same motive that’s easy to pick on like in Captain America Winter Solider. That issue of guilty before committing a crime because a god/system/etc judged you as a potential evil doer. So lesser of two evils here seems to be Khonksu, but then he will become a problem for Steven/Marc once Ammit is dealt with

An interesting theory from episode 1. Could see an introduction of Dr. Doom into the MCU.

Cant Believe were are this far into the MCU and no Doom yet.
I understand he was done in those shite. FF movies but he is just as big of an Avengers Villian. Hell he's even had some major run-ins with Spiderman!

Episode 3 was so good. The switch between accents from Oscar still blows my mind with how good he is with it. Wish this would be more than 6 episodes. It's definitely about to ramp up.

Just finished up this weeks episode. Another great one, and I’m really enjoying it a lot. I can’t wait to see where the storyline goes with Marc/Steven losing their powers.
I looked up Ammit, and it’s a hippo/lion/crocodile god. I hope we get to see her.

I actually enjoyed the Steven stuff more in this episode

Apparently, neither Marc or Steven did these killings. It must be his 3rd comic book personality Jake Locksley, the cab driver. Which if Jake has been around all series it would explain how that woman in the first episode got asked out on a date, because a married Marc probably wouldn't have, and we know Steven didn't.
I was worried that this would've been a one-off/limited series for "movie star" Oscar Isaac, but I just noticed in the credits, he is one of the executive producers. He might just stick around the MCU, especially now that his Disney Star Wars days are done.

I've heard rumors that phase 5 will center around the midnight sons

I am watching #2 now. Excited to peel this back and see what's going on.

Yep. Loved this episode. Hawke is doing a great job as well. His smugness bothers the shite out of me but it’s perfect for the role.

I'm enjoying the series so far. Hawke is a great villain. Oscar Isaac is excellent playing the split personalities. The storyline seems good up to now and hopefully will hold together. We've gotten a little bit of eye candy so far ant I'm thinking it's likely we'll get more.
One nitpick I have is that the other Egyptian gods came across as pretty naive by not even investigating whether Ethan Hawke was trying to free Ammit. Granted, Khonshu doesn't seem to be a well respected god to the Ennead, but one of them did say it was a very serious charge to accuse Hawke of trying to free Ammit, which seems to indicate they were the ones who imprisoned her.
