Paula patton is so damn hot .
The only impossible mission with me and her is to get me to pull out. Not happening.

Saw it today. Thought it was great. Awesome summer flick.
Only questions I had were, can’t they make another key…seemed they had tons of diagrams of it. Also where did the Asian chick come from when she landed on the train…seems like she just fell out of the sky, but Ethan had to parachute.

She did it Ethan’s original plan of waiting for a slowdown on a curve and got on. Just way earlier.

wonder if they will hit $250mm global in the first week with this one? It was wild being in a packed theater late at night... on a Tuesday.
It's actually off to a slow start, but hopefully it picks up this weekend. It did get an A CinemaScore which is great
$235mm+ not too bad...

I’ll put my criticism here. There were 3 or so scenes with multiple people sitting around talking.
The intelligence people at the archives towards the beginning
The night club
And I think a scene at one of the hideouts with the team.
Each one had pretty wooden dialogue that was clearly written just to explain to the viewer exactly what was happening. Mission impossible has definitely had clunky dialogue like that before, but they were more subtle with it. I felt like here they were aware of that and tried to own it but it took me out of the movie.
Overall though very fun and exactly what I want in an MI movies. I think they realized the plots are pretty convoluted and they tried to deal with that through too much exposition

I couldn’t help but thinking it was kind of a “Top Gun Maverick” film
I agree totally. It felt like they tried to hit the same notes in both. I enjoyed the movie but I think he needs to be careful if he wants to continue to stretch this out. They risk becoming too formulaic.

Clearly this dude is a locksmith. Sort of like how doctors can’t watch medical shows.

That message at the beginning with Tom cruise and I guess the director, was evidence of Tom’s awareness of the customer. Just the idea that they are aware that Hollywood is shitting on the fans speaks volumes.
I think it was more of an “anti streaming as a primary release method” message.

I saw on Twitter that this was the movie they were shooting when cruise totally lost his shite and went off about sticking to Covid protocols on the set. I had completely forgotten about that.

I saw a post on here that maybe had a good defense. To be fair, California and everyone was being super strict about this. And one frick up could get things re-shut down which fricks a lot of people.
I feel like I hear more about him being a good dude than an a-hole. That also was I think the only incident. Probably can give him a pass on that.

If they don't want people screaming for streaming or pirating it, then they should try to leave it on premium screens like Dolby Cinema for more then one fricking week.

Oppenheimer kicking it off

No, fricking Barbie is. The premium screens around here have Oppenheimer on IMax and are kicking MI:DR off of Dobly Cinema to show Barbie.

Both are taking premium screens from MI. Tom Cruise was on a rampage trying to keep some but was ultimately unsuccessful. I really don't understand why it didn't open a week earlier.

I know atwell is hot but man Rebecca Ferguson just does it for me
Agree with this. Hate to see her killed off from the series because I liked her character too.
I liked the movie but preferred Fallout. The rogue AI premise is neat and timely, and I expect we’ll see more of those stories.

Saw it last night.
Great point. Who made the key first? Start there.
And, just to point out that we don't get MI without Lucille Ball, and Desilu Productions. Kinda cool.

Saw this yesterday. It was very good but the next one should be epic. Oh, and Hayley Atwell is fine as hell.

Saw it the other night. Really good movie (though not better than Fallout). Best part of the movie BY FAR was her though:
Honestly the beautiful eyes I have ever seen.
