how do you know that? Are you his banker?

a lot of times these actors live these lavish lifestyles that cost money to continue and if they dont have a continuous income stream, a fortune like that can be depleted rather quickly. Look at Johnny Depp. something about 30k in wine a month....... a month.....of wine.

I see Mike Meyers like Adam Sandler. Both were good on SNL. Both had some pretty good to really good movies early in their movie career, but then grew pretty stale.

Doesn't this happen to most comedian actors?

Even the great Eddie Murphy and Steve Martin, other SNL guys..

The first Austin Powers was funny. The rest were just the same old jokes.

The 2nd movie was just as good as the first and had more structure. Definitely had better characters with mini me, young #2, and fat bastard added.

I don't find movies of today (for the most part) are nearly as funny as older movies.

Maybe it's the whole supporting cast but both Grown Ups movies are funny as shite.

Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy had more fruitful careers in terms of quality of movies. Yeah, they grew stale eventually. But Meyers and Sandler, much like Will Ferrel (all SNL cast btw), all seemed to start off in a rocket like trajectory that didn't hold up too long.

The good comic actors transition to drama to prolong their careers. Robin Williams and Tom Hanks being the best examples.

You can’t put Sandler and Ferrell in the same category as Myers.

Not sure what your definition of not holding up is. No ones gonna be the top movie star in the world for 20 years.

Sandler has been making movies for almost 25 years. Hotel trans 3 comes out this summer. The last one made 500 million. Is he the top movie star in the world. No. Is he still bankable. Apparently.

Ferrel’s last movie bombed but before that he’d been doing pretty good. No way he’s done either.

He turned good in the last one. Not sure what the point would be here. Scott going insane and taking over was what they setup. Why stray from that?

They straight up don't make nearly as many comedies as they used to. Somewhere around 2012, they basically just stopped making more than like 2 per year, and they always have Seth Rogan and/or Jonah Hill in them.

The ones they have made, though, have been pretty damn awesome. 21/22 Jump Street, This is the End, Scott Pilgrim v. the World, Deadpool, etc. They just don't make tons of teen movies anymore.

I'm almost positive Myers said a decade ago he wanted to make this movie so it isn't a surprise it's come back around.

Found it. He mentioned it in 2007 since it was a kind of obvious path to go.

Eddie Murphy hasn't been funny since Beverly Hills Cop.
