Nukes. It's just like how we told Japan to sit down and shut up in our real world.

I know nukes ended the war and got the US to surrender. The underlying tone throughout the show has been how easily the US population seemed to have jumped on board with the Nazi ideals and become the people they used to despise.

Well you don't really know how the rest of the country has adjusted to Nazi life. We've only been shown parts of NY thus far. As long as you were somewhat healthy and white the Nazis would be fine with you. If you objected to them they would kill you so most people probably just went along with it.
They're are occasional acts of rebellion happening across the country but they only consist of a small portion of the population.

I'm saying I don't feel like it is all that dissimilar from actual history. When faced with the threat of total annihilation, the Japanese closed up shop really quick when we dropped the bombs even after steadfastly carrying the never surrender mantra throughout their entire existence as a nation. They decided that accepting defeat was beneficial to survival and got on their way to producing electronics, efficient automobiles, and weird and disturbing game shows.

In the alt-history, America might have seen DC nuked and decided that they better go along to get along if they didn't want to be vaporized.

ETA: I understand that after VJ Day we didn't force the Japanese to completely abandon their culture and swear allegiance to the west like the Nazi's did in the show.

Just watched the last episode of season 1. Wtf is going on?! I was trying to make sense of what was really going on in the last few episodes and right when it clicks... gotcha!

I love the art direction and attire. It's interesting to see what might've been too. Made me sad for OGF Smith when his son was diagnosed. That'd be crazy if that were a reality.

I loved Season 2 but I just don't see how they get to Season 3.

The story has been told.

I just finished season 2 and I was surprised by how good a show it became. Very strong finish and I doubted that it would go another season. But sure it can, think about the position of Americans, and also the rising hippy culture in Germany. Societal change is likely to be the theme of season 3. And Overgruppenfuhrer Smith's story is not over yet at all. He seems likely to be the focus of season 3.

I just finished season 2. Have to say after the first season I was unsure how much of 2 I would watch. The second season really got good as it went on and really ended with a nice cliffhanger. I might be in the minority here but I think there is plenty of story line left for the 3rd season, which they have already signed on to do. Im looking forward to it and hope more people catch on to the show.
