I’ve been watching it on Hulu. I guess I wasn’t old enough to appreciate it back then. Bryan Cranston is hilarious. I was dying during that episode at the mall where he steals the guy’s bag multiple times trying to get the foot spa and every time it’s something else.

I used to hate the mom but she makes more sense to me now.

The whole Francis story is kind of dumb but Otto is pretty funny.

In the middle of Season 6 right now. It keeps getting better as the seasons go on because the characters keep evolving.

Lois gets better and better as the seasons go along. Her character becomes much more 3 dimensional rather than just an angry mom out to punish the boys.

Just watched the episode last night where they take a protest stand on the strip club billboard. Followed by the episode where Dewey writes an opera based on Lois and Hal fighting over a mattress. fricking genius writing.

Hal is the goat dad. Idl why but I vividly remember the episode when Lois gets in the wreck where she swears it isnt her fault. she ends up becoming nice because it and they try and hide the fact that she wasn't actually at fault

Best sitcom of the 2000s. All 7 seasons were good in their own rights. Very few bad episodes. The only episodes I didn't like were the ones that featured Cloris Leatchman. Her character was more annoying in a grating kind of way. There were a couple of good ones with her but for the most part her character took too much screen time away from the boys.

I think Season 6 is my favorite.

The episodes you listed are classics but I think the best episode of Season 6 is No Motorcycles, followed by the episode where the boys find an old diving board. Also the one where Jessica convinces Malcolm and Reese that the other one is gay.

What a great TV show.

My favorite plot lines in the show all deal with Hal:
1. Hal avoids being the Patsy for his employer’s fraud scheme because he literally never showed up to work on Fridays and always did something wacky and fun by himself with goofy tourist pictures.
2. The parents stop having sex and suddenly everything is clean, well-maintained, successful in their careers, etc. then, they start having sex again and the whole house goes back to shite
3. Hal’s wild side comes out after a few nights without mom around and he builds a killer bee-launching robot of doom

When Malcolm is doubting himself and his mom tells him "You look me in the eye and tell me you can't do it" always gets me. she's rough on him and the whole family but she believes in him and knows what he can do. I've used that line on my own boy (to varying degrees of success).

Hal as the disco skater (in spandex on the old four wheel roller skates) is my favorite episode.

We all have our favorite episodes.

You wanna know why that show was so good?

Great writers ..... perfectly cast, produced and directed.

I would watch it for hours when the reruns would come on at night back in middle school and high school

Cranston was so good as Hal, that when Breaking Bad first came out I didn't even give it a chance the first 3 years because I thought there was no way I could ever see him as anything other than goofy Hal and wouldn't be able to take him serious in a dramatic role

Speed walking Hal episode and the one where him and Dewey quit smoking and had to find all of Hal's hidden stashed were two of the GOATs

Hal at Burning Man was great too

Oh, also the episode where Hal becomes the leader of a pack of bodybuilders

I remember the episode where Hal and Lois couldn't have sex. As a result, the house was spotless and the frontyard was all clean.

The Burning Man episode. They stand around watching him BBQ like it's a performance. Great show.

Pretty sure the episode with Hal being the Patsy was at the end of Season 5

It's only on Hulu

The black kid in the wheelchair who's always out of breath is one of the GOAT sitcom characters.
