It's not good yall. Basically it breaks down to
Another T-800 kills John in 1998
New good terminator is named Grace
New bad terminator is Rev9
The little girl is the new "John"
Skynet never existed and became a program called Legion after John and Sarah destroyed it
Sarah and the T-800 that killed John team up with Grace and the little girl

Not surprised at all.
It's a pathetic attempt at a reboot, not a real sequel.
Remember when Terminator Genisys was supposed to kickstart a trilogy? The one that was scrapped instantly? Yeah.
This is another attempt to kickstart a new series of films, staring younger actors that are supposed to carry the franchise.
But this shite never works. Taking all the beloved characters and the entire story fans actually know and love and just flushing it all unceremoniously down the toilet is never well received.
"Hey, remember all those great characters and all their adventures? Yeah, none of that shite matters. They're all dead and their adventures were pointless. Here's some new people though, they're cool right?"

A while back, I read somewhere that Cameron said he was going to finish the story and the moviegoers would love it. From the looks of the contents of the link, he is not involved in this one.

I thought Cameron said he actually enjoyed Genesis. Why are they do this weird shitty attempt of rebooting the movie, but erasing the previous story line

He is the same t800 that killed john in the beginning. He lost his purpose after killing john so he just lived a life
So...he just went out and got a job and a mortgage or whatnot while helping Sarah on the side?

that is quite a tortured rendering of the series. Sad everything has to be a sequel/prequel. The original may never have been made in today's environment.

Well, they tried something new last movie and it failed. This is more of the same and everyone hates it.
Maybe it will come down to execution. Still, that trailer gives me little hope.

The last movie had some good ideas buried in there but was really hurt by the complete lack of chemistry between Emilia Clarke and New Kyle Reese.
The "twist" also sucked and was really hurt by being shown in the trailer anyway.

Yeah expect there's no coming back from killing John especially in 1998. It basically makes T1 and T2 irrelevant

It all went seriously to shite with Salvation.
If a well-developed timeline had actually been thought out that was set in the post-apocalyptic rise of John Connor that came full circle with the elimination of Skynet, the Terminator series could have been one of the GOATs.
Too many different people got their hands and stupid ideas on the series. Now it’s just a jumbled mess, who really cares anymore.

I can be talked into it, if the execution is good.
The concept of the Skynet Judgment Day being prevented but their Terminators already being here has some potential but it will take some good writing to prevent this from devolving into a total goat rodeo.

Yeah, it’s an interesting story choice for sure, but that doesn’t bother me. Hell, Endgame did some things that mad a couple of movies “irrelevant”
. This is just the next step in the story.
With that being said, the trailer gives me little hope about the execution.

That’s all coming from random people on Reddit who claim to have seen the movie 5 months or so before it’s release. I’m not saying they are wrong but until I’m given a reason to believe them, I won’t.

I thought he would have just bought a storage unit and turned himself off like Sarah Conner Chronicles.
Or
Start a fortune 500 company, also like Sarah Conner chronicles.
Great show, needed one more season.
Drop the bombshell that the T1000s have joined the human side against sky net then end?

I actually enjoyed Salvation. I didn’t like Terminator 3. Genysis was ok.

Salvation was a great direction to take the series. The problem was, they ruined the movie in the trailer and they got McG to direct it. That dude is such a hack.

Salvation was not ruined in the trailer. Genisys was spoiled in the trailer.
Salvation had to have the ending reflimed because Sam Worthington’s prototype terminator was suppose to assume John Connor’s identity when Connor died after their failed raid and lead the human resistance. Test audiences hated the ending so they reshot the ending and also stripped it down to a pg-13 movie.
Didn’t help that Anton Yelchin wasn’t exactly the badass Kyle Reese that Michael Biehn was.
Also, it would be really great if movie studios would stop letting the opinions of 100-200 random Los Angeles area residents dictate the direction that they take their $150 million plus movie franchises in.
